Hello I'm looking to see if anyone can help I've recently bought a eurosec cpx control panel and I was wondering if I need to wire an additional power supply so I can connect the 7 pir's and 4 shocktec door contacts, Or is it possible to power them via the aux 12v. The pir's nominal current is 16mA and the door cont's 7.5mA, according to my calculations this will over-load the system. If so can anyone recommend a suitable add. power supply so I can split the load.

Hi, I have a Eurosec CPX alarm system. I also have the engineer and user codes. I need to change the battery as it's probably eight years old. Please could someone give me a step by step guide as to how I disable the system so I can open the control unit without setting off the alarm. I am happy with the physical change of the battery. I have the 'User Instructions' but it does not cover battery replacement. I guess I would need a maintenance manual. I have also noticed that when I have a power cut the alarm goes off. Is this correct and if so how do I disable that function. It happened a couple of weeks ago when I was abroad on holiday, much to the i…

I need to connect three smoke detectors to my existing Texecom 48 system. I don't want to run cables back to the panel, so I planned to connect the detectors to an expander, which would be connected to the spare cable sitting in the loft which was already taken back to the panel when the system was installed. I want to avoid using a power supply with the expander if possible. I do not have any other expanders on the system currently. About 14 zones on the Texecom 48 are used. What are the options, and would I be better off running three separate cables from th epanel to the loft? It will be a pain in the a*se mind.

I have an Accenta G3 alarm with two unused zones and would like to extend the alarm into my garage with is inbuilt. There is a single wall (thermal block) between the garage and the location of the alarm panel. I would like to fit a door sensor and a PIR and also fit a very loud sounder in the garage. I have some basic door contact switches and have been looking at one of the 4 way 'sound bomb' sounders. Would these be suitable? what PIR type would I need there are no appliances in the garage. Also is there a cage available for the sounder as I wouldn't want someone to be able to just whack it with a broom handle to silence it? Any help appreciated…

Hi, I am trying to source an alarm that allows me to extract information about the state of window/ door and occupancy sensors. And I would also like set the alarm remotely if possible. I would like it to operate via one of the following Protocols: Modbus Mbus Bacnet I know that Honeywell offers an IP gateway, however the system doesn't output this information as standard. So this isn't suitable. However, another alarm system that uses a more open IP interface could work, although one of the above protcols would be better as I'm integrating it with a Priva BMS system. If anyone could offer any suggestions, that would be much appreciated. Fraser

Hi I have installed a Visonic Powermaster 30 and an LCD keypad KP250 I read in some KP-250 documents a reference to "Input Voltage (V DC) - 12" under "Power Description" section. The electronics board in fact shows "DC IN" next to a 2 pin JST H2 connector. I was wondering if: the lcd keypad can in fact be powered up from an external power source? if affirmative, what is the connector pinout (positive and negative pins)? and voltage to apply is the stated 12v? thanks in advance r.

Dear Sir, I have just had a new kitchen fitted and wanted to move the old large alarm to the porch...I contacted the engineer who fritted the old alarm and with great difficulty, managed to get him back to help. He advised that the cheapest way would to hide the old alarm and run a small pad type of alarm to be on show...still in the kitchen. Tonight I had to run through the house in order to get out in time as the alarm started to go off. The engineer has not left me any instructions...simply saying it is like my old one.....It is not! Getting hold of this chap has been so difficult.....Could you send me a Manual.....On the alarm it s…

Hi I spoke to someone this afternoon but didn't catch the name as I was on the mobile. The issue is I have a Scantronic 8136 that's dead in the water. The keypads report the right time, and the alarm company is able to dial in and see the log. Engineer came today and said it looks pretty likely we need to change the panel. Whe I spoke to you this afternoon, couldn't hear very well what you told me on the phone about what the problem might be (doing school run at the time). I would be happy to replace the panel given reported quality issues. Please advise in writing which panels would be suitable for a swap out, with minimal wiring changes, no rewiring…

Hi my name is Jack, and I live and work in Finland. Finland is home to the Abloy un-pick-able un-bump-able lock, secure doors that open towards you and triple glazed windows. it also has a very low crime rate however crime is on the rise. And robbery is happening but still it seams no one here has home alarm systems! With a secure property why need one right?? ..... wrong Most people here have summer houses, log cabins in the woods often 100s of km from there home. These summer houses are often near lakes with no one else permanently living close by and a lot of Fins have motorboats or kayaks, bicycles and many other summer toys and nice things that they keep …

The keypad panel on my Flex 20 is showing a series of stars. Whilst I was away we had a thunder storm which knocked out my internet (it impacted the router). It also appears to have knocked out the intruder alarm, which sat next to it. When I went to check it there was no power coming out from the panels 15v power supply. I subsequently plugged in a 12 volt one which powered up the alarm and the keypad, which is now displaying a series of stars / asterisks, and is non responsive. I assume this is because the alarm system needs 15 volts to fully function and the batteries have been completely discharged (checked the one on the control panel and it was down to…

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help please: I have a wired home alarm system using the Honeywell G2-12 panel. This was an existing wired system and I replaced an old domestic failed panel with a G2-12 panel and MK7 keypad with Keyprox. I now have a programmed up and working inruder alarm system that can be set and unset with users and PIN entry on keypad. I need to have a Prox Tag programmed in so that the system can be unset from Night Set to keep it simple for the wife to unset the alarm without her glasses first thing in the morning as she is normally first to come down - she is long sighted so only needs glasses for reading which she forgets to bring upstairs…

Hi, Recently installed a Galaxy 2-20 for a client and they said they have had trouble unsettling the system before, so went round and checked everything, front door is on a door contact and set as final door, detector near front door is programmed as exit. Now I noticed that when unsettling they leave the front door open, could this stop them unsettling the system?, I don't see why not myself?, although I did notice that he said when he unset the system he entered the code and then pressed A, which is the procedure for setting the system

Hi. I have random high resistances in most zones of a Honeywell Galaxy Dimension. I would like to replace my panel with a new one, but I've been told these panels are incompatible with detectors that have solid state relays (and I have several of these). Can anyone confirm this information? Thanks.
