Faulty Scantronic 8136 following tech support call today

Featured Replies

Hi

I spoke to someone this afternoon but didn't catch the name as I was on the

mobile.

The issue is I have a Scantronic 8136 that's dead in the water. The keypads

report the right time, and the alarm company is able to dial in and see the

log.

Engineer came today and said it looks pretty likely we need to change the

panel.

Whe I spoke to you this afternoon, couldn't hear very well what you told me on the phone about what the problem might be (doing school run at the time).

I would be happy to replace the panel given reported quality issues. Please advise in writing which panels would be suitable for a swap out, with minimal wiring changes, no rewiring in the property and perhaps ability for alarm company to dial in, download settings and then upload them to the new system (though this is not crucial), and continue to use the 2 keypads on the system. They look like the 9930, though they have a menu button where the 'X' is and the word 'Enter? where the tick is.

Id have a word with your engineer to confirm the panel is dead, and they will advise you on the best course of action as they have access to more information than we do here.

If you have alimited number of circuits id have a look at the 9851 range. But any panel change is not an easy task.
