Please can anyone help resolve this problem with Intruder Alarm system Scantronic 9800+. (9827) In brief, there is a code showing as bF which I understand through d/loading the User manual means: battery fault on the control panel. The alarm has been going off several times a day for nearly a week and I disconnected the ringer several days ago but am too worried to open up the control panel in case it then goes off again and I can't press the code to stop the noise once the faccia is removed. However, I need to see inside in order to know what type of battery I need to buy to replace the present faulty battery. Any assistance would be very much appreciated since I h…

Reading the tecnical specification for the honeywell Accenta compact it says its maximum battery size is 2.1 A/h. As 2.1 A/h are getting harder to find, (ie they are now 2.2 or 2.3 A/h) is the size critical or is there a slight tolerance?

Hi, Could you please confirm if the following batteries are suitable for the Optima Compact Gen4 and if they will fit into the enclosure ok? They are both made by Yuasa but one is cheaper, so what's the difference and which is the better one? http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=350 or this: http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1339 Also, could you please confirm if you have both the Optima compact in stock and either of the above two batteries? Finally, if I order today, when can I expect delivery? Thank you

I have just replaced a Flash Guard XL Plus with a Pyronix Belle Sounder fitted to a Pyronix Octagon panel. Flash-guard Belle 1 Tampout BT 4 Supply - B- 5 Supply+ B+ 6 Trigger BA 8 Strobe- STB Added link between TF and B- The speakers sound, the strobe works. the LED's flash and the anti tamper operates when the alarm is unset. If I put the panel in engineer mode and operate the anti tamper switch the panel does not register a tamper condition which is correct but the Belle sounder still operates which means the front panel can not be removed for testing without setting of the Belle internal alarm. …

Hi, I wish to intall a wireless alarm system that includes both an wireless external sounder/strobe and a wireless smoke detector. My question is which is the best, it is for a 3 bedroom house, I have had the Powermax plus before and never had any issues but there was never the choice that seems to be around now. I am basically after the most reliable system. Thanks Nick_P

Do you have any experience with the micorwave adjustment on a Bosch Blue Line D1-P detector? Part of the installation of some I have purchased form you indicates to adjust the microwave sensivity, is this a normal part of a standard installation for say a 10m x 10m room or do you always hae to fine tune the detector? Is there any further guidance notes for this task?

  9. Please help are the Bosh BLP1-P Pet friendly PIR Sensors compatable with the Honeywell Accenta Mini Gen 4 Intruder Panel & LED Keypad Plus FlashGuard Bell box?

Hi, I have just received 5 x Pet Detectors PIR's (Texecom Prestige). Why don't they have brackets? The Prestige DT PIR's that I ordered a while ago from elsewhere came with brackets, so I assumed these would. Even the blurb on the box's suggests that they include brackets, although a sticker has also been placed on each box to say that they are available separately? I appreciate that some might not recommend brackets for installs, but for this particular job I wanted them... Any ideas..... Thanks, Chris

I have a Cooper SD2+ connected to a system and working fine using the O2 SMS centre. I have been asked to switch this to using the BT Text service so that use can be made of the bundled free texts with the BT phone line. Not an unreasonable request. The problem is that I have tried almost every setting to get this unit to work with BT Text and have even had a BT engineering helping but to no avail. (message centre number 1470 P 17094009) Has anyone else found this to be a problem or managed to solve it? If so could you post the settings and procedure. Thanks

Hello, I am planning on getting a new intruder alamr panel. My accenta g4 is not as reliable as you may think. With the dan thing making a buzzing noise thru the speakers, display going funny, LEDs flickering and as many other faults you could think of! I am planning on buying a scantronic 9448 control panel (the control box with 1 RKP). I have 5 current intruder ones (1 panic), 1 fire and one spare. Is it possible to have a fire alarm zone on this unit? And once I fit it, will I need an engineer code? Im presuming it starts with 7 and ends in 0. I wont put the whole code on here to save any problems. I also would like to know if it is programmed with …

  17. Hi, I have a problem with a missing cable. It is the cable between the panel and the GPS/GPRS module. It seems impossible to buy the cable in Sweden. So I have purchased components to make my own cable. But when I looked in the (Swedish) instruction manual it looks like the wires are connected cross-over. (see attached files) Can someone please confirm how the wires should be connected? straight (Example 1 in the attached file) or crossed (Example 2 in the attached file)??

  18. This is similar to another post below, I too have a texecom veritas system which is faulty, I have called their support desk and there are unhelpful and ofter cut me off if they can't find a solution. I too am ready to replace, I have been looking everywhere and tempted to get a professional around to install a new system but prices are unjustifiable, four figures to takeover an existed wired system and replace the panels, I think I must be paying for the Nacass approval badge!! I am about replaced all my working PIRs with a Bosch BLP-1P pet friendly ones. I need to replace the system, the reason is the guy who installed it last year couldn't get the two bell boxes t…

Hello I'm rewiring my house and as my floorboards are up and walls chased I have decided to install a burglar alarm. I'm going to go with the Castle Care Tech Euro 46. I have a few questions, should I use 6 or 8 core wire? I'm pretty sure everything wires back to the Control Panel. Finally does the control panel come with a keypad because I would like the flush satin chrome one. Or does it come as a second input device therefore I will have 2 keypads on the system I hope you are able to help with my questions Regards Jasdeep

  25. Hi, I self-installed a Euro Mini about a year ago. I have two keypads installed, one upstairs and one downstairs. It's been working fine since I installed it but now its giving me error 485 COMMNS LOST. Neither of the keypads respond. If I open the panel box or the keypad to fault find, the tamper alarm will sound and I have now way of overriding it! 1. Any ideas what would cause this problem (error 485)? Does the keypad or panel have a keypad fuse? If so would a blown fuse cause this error? 2. Without a working keypad, how do I override the tamper alarm? Thanks in advance.
