Intruder Alarms

Hi. I had Scantronic 9800 system installed 20 years ago. It has given good service but the push buttons have become faulty over the years and we are now on the last four buttons that work reliably. Is there a compatible replacement available for the original 9825 remote keypad? If yes is it simply a case of switching off power, disconnect battery and swop over wires on keypad or does it need an 'expert'?

I am fitting a new intruder alarm system to my house, and want to utilise the wired sensors, etc I already have. However I want to have remote control operation as well. To achieve this I am looking at the Galaxy G2-12 panel with wireless expander (RF Portal) and wireless remote controls. Is the wireless module compatible wiht the G2-12 or do I have to move up to the G2-20?

fitted new panel no problems, but unable to get entry time to work full alarm goes off as soon as door opened . tried setting up as described in engineer's manual page 38 . Is it something I'am doing or is the panel faulty ?

Hello, Need a little help how to program different user and allocated zones for Veritas exel panel. Cannot understand the manual fully. Fitted 2 keypad and 1 panel. Keypads fitted to 2 seperate rooms. 1st room Main using door contact ..entry/exit and pir on zone 2 inhibit and zone 3 guard to cupboard contact. 3 users for this room + cleaner. 2nd room using zone 4 programmed as entry/exit. Have set all users their access 4 digit code and ok. How do I program 2nd room user zone 4 his own zone to arm and disarm without effecting the other room/zones on full arm. And 1st room programs not to effect room 2 Your help would be greatly appriciated. …

Hi all, I have recently purchased a scantronic 9651 control panel from this site Iv'e also purchased honey-well pet friendly PIR's. I've managed to work out how to wire the bell-box and 9941 key pads but can some one help me with an idiots guide to wiring the PIR's and front door magnet. because I'm having trouble with the tamper wiring (do I need to use all 6 cables for the PIR and only 2 for the door magnet? I purchased several items including a ADE Honeywell Accenta Mini Gen4 and a Honeywell ActiveGuard AG6 External Siren to update an old system in my house. I fitted the items and all seemed to work well. However I have just realised that when I remove the PCB cover, activating the tamper, the external bell and strobe do not operate. The sounders on both of the key pads are activated by the tamper. The external siren and strobe work as they should in all other situations (test, SOS, if the alarm is triggered etc.) I just cannot work out what is wrong, any help would be appreciated?

i`m installing my alarm that i purchased earlier this year. 1. the odyssey 1e, there are three switches inside, is it only the one for the battery to be placed on that i move? 2. i`m wiring to global tamper. can i twist all the power wires together and then insert into power terminals? 3. any zones that i do not use, do i need to use the staple like pieces? any help would be great, thanks...

Hi, we are looking at the Honeywell EC01000 range of detectors. We require Optical & Ionization, can you recomend an Ionization Detector for the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension Panel and explain the diffrence in the standard and diode base. Am I right in thinking these have no sounder and if so what compatible internal sounder is available?

I'm trying to decide which battery to purchase for my G2-44 system that I'm ready to order from Securitywarehouse, and I'd like to know if the Control Panel supplied with the LCD Keypad (Model: C044-01-KPD) is the plastic or the metal one since there is a difference in the battery size (7Ah vs 17Ah). i`m looking to install an alarm into my 3 bedroom house. i`m going to fit my self and then get the electrician in to connect the power. i`ve been browsing through and quit like the sound of the veritas 8+. is this a good alarm and easy enough to fit. i have basic knowledge of electrics. any suggestions or comments would be grateful, thanks.

Hi, Our alarm has been giving us problems for about 2 weeks. It indicates an intermittent problem with the PA and low battery - the alarm goes off intermittently as well. we have changed the battery in the main control panel and the PA. We have inherited this system and have done nothing with it apart from keeping the PA to hand (and changing the batteries), it has never been armed. What advice can you give? We would be happy to disconnect the thing and switch it off completely - but when I try (by removing the fuse) the outside alarm goes off. I purchased an alarm system last year, and until today has worked without fault, however, when my Wife tried to set our alarm in the usual way using the ADE Simple Set she was unable to do so. When I came home I also tried without success. The unit shows both Power & Day lights but when either a 'learnt' or an 'unlearnt' fob is offered to the unit there is no response regardless of the length of time the fob is held against the unit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The unit is less than 12 months old

Hi, How do you change user and engineer code to the Texecom premier 24 panels. The manual gives details to change from eighter 4,5 or 6 numbers. I have tried with no success to program with 4 numbers and won't except only if I use 6 digit. Please if any one can help I would be grateful as I don't want to use 6 digit. Thanks.

I've got the issue with ADE Honeywell Easy Set bought from you about 2 years ago. It requires resetting(cutting the power off) at least twice a year. Is it a known issue with these? Basically the keyfobs stop functioning and reset always helps when it happen.

My external alarm bells (2 at high level)are not sounding when the system is activated/tripped.The internal bell on the panel are activated. Could the bells have been deactivated via the keyboard? If so could you please tell me how can they be reactivated. I had understood that if wires to alarm bell were cut the internal alarm would be activated.

Hi I purchased the above panel recently. The user manual suggests that it can be set up in a way that you only need only press the set button rather than entering the 4 didgit code. I cant see in the engineers manual how to do this. Is this the case and if so how do you set it up. Thanks Jimr
