  1. Hi, I have a GJD emerald mk3 system with 3 sensors and 3 lights and I hope somebody can tell me why the lights are coming on in daylight. Nothing has been changed on the system and for about the last 3 months they have been plying about!!! The system is quite a few years old now and I was wondering if the opal sensors or the main panel should be replaced. Thanks Steve

  2. I have a number of lighting sensors on our house and one of them seems to have stopped working (they've been in place since '99). Do I need to replace the whole sensor or just the bit inside?

  3. I am looking at controlling 2 outdoor PIRs and lighting as 2 seperate zones. I notice that you have the emerald unit and the Voltek unit. I have the following questions: 1. will the units work with any manufacturer of PIR (12v) and lighting? 2. Do you stock the 'GJD base 2' which is required for the emerald unit? I notice you stock 4 zone expansion unit (GJD040). 3. Can you tell me what I would require for the Voltek 2 Zone systemas well as the TZX command centre? 4. do you have a general schematic for a 2 zone simple system? Thanks in advance.

    1. How can I choose between the vast number of Floodlights available, across an extraordinary price range ? My preferences are speed of ignition, lower brightness, lower energy, smaller size, weatherproofness, longer life and allows connection to two PIRs. Any choice suggestions ? 2. How can I wire this Floodlight to two PIRs (one inside, one outside my front door) to ensure it lights before I tackle the front steps from either direction.

  5. CAN THIS BE USED OUSIDE TO CONTROL TWO OUTSIDE LIGHTS?

  6. Have just received a number of GJD Mini opal PIR's and in each box is a bag containing 4 plastic items. No where in the instructions does it refer to these parts as far as I can see. They do seem to fit in the hole in the back of the sensor where the tamper switch is. There are 3 similar part each with a different length. They may be to waterproof the device but it's not obvious. The fourth piece I've no idea where it's meant to go.

  7. Hi I just bought the above unit....do I need another piece of equipment to operate this unit as I was under the impression that this unit had a light incorporated and was an all in one unit....is it just a sensor and do I need to fit another piece of equipment, if so what??

  8. Hi, I notice on the website that you sell spare Covers for the GJD Opal PIR detectors, and I'm trying to find out if the covers fit all Opal detectors or just recent ones ? I've three detectors that have been in use for around 12 to 15 years, which I'd like to get some spare covers for. I don't see any model numbers on the detectors or their original packaging, other than the words "GJD OPAL" on the PIR PCB.

  9. One of your Opal XL products was installed yesterday as a replacement . The new product switched on automatically in response to movement after dark but the lights remained on and would not then switch off automatically. 1 Is there a control device on the unit for managing the time that the lights are activated or can you suggest another solution please. 2 Do you have an installation schematic for the product ?

I have a security light with chime alarm. My plug in alarm has stopped working. It looks looks identical to your model TLRXC1. My alarm has the type No BQ-RF-PTC-RX-W, 433MHz stamped on the back. I wish to buy a replacement alarm, my question is, will your model TLRXC1 work as a replacement alarm?.

  11. Hi I bought a system from you last month and have now installed it. I bought a GJD digizone controller, 4 way expansion unit and Mini Opal pir's. The system often works well but every now and then a red led flashes inside the pir's and the system dies. It sometimes dies for minutes or hours then seems to reset and come back on. Do you have any idea what causes this?

  12. could you please advise on a psu unit to power 3 optex vx402 units and 12 volt to 240 volt trip relays to power 4 500w flood lights on a barn inc 1.2 amp 12 volt backup.

  13. I have a 4 Zone Expansion Unit, GJD040 and a DygiZone enunciator and lots of Mini Opal PIRs. From one of your leaflets it shows 4 PIRS connected to each of 2 expansion Units. My GJD unit only seems to have provision for only 3 PIRs (A1,A2,A3). Is this correct or have I missed something? The two expansion units in the leaflet may have been Solitaire units. If 3 is the maximum can I double up? ie 2 PIRs in parallel? I realise the digizone will not be able to discriminate between the two but I guess it may work? If I was to purchase a second GJD040 can the two be connected together? How would the digizone handle Zones 5 and 6? Or would it be more sensible to have two separat…

  14. compatable detector and flood light to go with lighting controller emerald mk3 2zone

  15. My problem concerns our home security lighting system. We have two floodlights, two PIR's and an internal control panel. The control panel inside says GJD Sapphire MkIII. After several years of faultless use it has now gone wrong. Sometimes the lights only flash, sometimes they are ok. I think it is either one of the two PIR's giving a faulty signal (with the other still ok hence it sometimes works) or the timer in the control panel. I tried altering the time on this and they seem to stay on longer when they do work, but usually they only flash. Should I change one of the PIR's or what. I really would like to talk to a real person!

  16. Hi. I'm looking to buy the Genie IR lights on an ongoing basis for various projects as they come up for us (eg product no. 13/24. I will often be looking to run them off a 12V DC supply. Can you recommend the appropriate power adaptor please?

Having a problem with the new units : Initially both TX units were recognized by the RX unit and worked correctly but after about 15 minutes one of the TX units ceased to be recognized (the PIR is working since the LED flashes on the TX unit but the RX unit is not responding). Have disconnected and reconnected power to both TX and RX unit and used RX program mode to attempt to re-detect TX unit but still no response. Is there any other "reset" procedure or is the TX unit faulty?

  18. Hi - I would like to purchase two of the item below but I need to ensure that they are compatible with my DMX lighting system which is made by Pharos Controls. It has a remote input output processor which can handle either a high or low signal (NC/NO). Texecom Prestige External TD Outdoor Motion Sensor Black AFQ-0001

Can you please tell me which one of these two products, GJD Mini Opal External PIR or Opal XL 12V PIR 35 m works with an older version of a GJD controller - it has a 6 wire configuration. The old ones - have disintegrated lenses due to UV light - they have GJD on the inside of the housings and they have a pan-tilt PIR but no model number if this helps. I've looked on your site regarding the new types of controllers which are very similar to the type that have been installed. Once I know if either are compatible I will need to order.

  21. Have just installed a 4 zone controller, DygiZone (GJD910) and expansion panel (GJD040) with 7 Mini Opal external PIRs (GJD 332). During the installation and initial setting of the PIR’s I had to remove each cover several times. Some of the PIR’s retained their Hex retaining screw with a plastic washer but quite a few them fell out. Inevitably with such a small screw I managed to lose 2 of them. Is it possible to get hold of replacement screws and washers through security warehouse? If not do you have the specification? I could do with at least 6. I have also recorded a voice message for each lighting zone but the quality of the recording isn’t very good. Sounds like …

Hi, I have a Honeywell Galaxy G2-20. I need to use a relay to connect an output to a GJD lighting system 15:32 Would the TKC relays be best for this or would you recommend a different relay?

RE: Takex PR-11B Hi, I plan on purchasing one of these devices as part of a home automation project to detect when a car drives on to my driveway. I was planning on attached the dry contacts to a binary Z-Wave detector to initiate some other lighting. I was wondering what the best source of power for the sensor would be - are you able to recommend any low cost power supplies? Thanks,

  24. Looking to implement lighting control system with all (or mostly) wireless PIR. Have been looking at the Opal RFX range and also possible the Dygizone lighting controller - is there an RFX version of the Dygizone, or how who such a combination be combined?

customer has a voltek security light system. 1803 controller with 2 sensors and an internal alert. the sensors work, triggering the internal alarm, but there is no output for the 2 floodlights. i have checked the 20mm fuse to the immediate right of the 240V output terminals and it's good.i suspect that the 1803 is faultybut would like a 2nd opinion before buying a replacement.
