I have a Racalite Light control system running 4 external lights via 4 sensor heads. The sensor heads are the type supplied with a Guardall Excalibur system. I am looking to obtain 2 replacement sensors capable of operating on the current system. Specification of current sensor heads is: Power: 10-16v dc Temp range: -20 to +55C Steering Adj: +/-90deg horizontal +10 to -50deg vertical IP rating: IP55 Detection range: 17m 100deg field of view. Can you supply 2 suitable sensor heads? If so how much?

RE: Takex PR-11B Hi, I plan on purchasing one of these devices as part of a home automation project to detect when a car drives on to my driveway. I was planning on attached the dry contacts to a binary Z-Wave detector to initiate some other lighting. I was wondering what the best source of power for the sensor would be - are you able to recommend any low cost power supplies? Thanks,

  5. Hi - I would like to purchase two of the item below but I need to ensure that they are compatible with my DMX lighting system which is made by Pharos Controls. It has a remote input output processor which can handle either a high or low signal (NC/NO). Texecom Prestige External TD Outdoor Motion Sensor Black AFQ-0001

Having a problem with the new units : Initially both TX units were recognized by the RX unit and worked correctly but after about 15 minutes one of the TX units ceased to be recognized (the PIR is working since the LED flashes on the TX unit but the RX unit is not responding). Have disconnected and reconnected power to both TX and RX unit and used RX program mode to attempt to re-detect TX unit but still no response. Is there any other "reset" procedure or is the TX unit faulty?

I have a security light with chime alarm. My plug in alarm has stopped working. It looks looks identical to your model TLRXC1. My alarm has the type No BQ-RF-PTC-RX-W, 433MHz stamped on the back. I wish to buy a replacement alarm, my question is, will your model TLRXC1 work as a replacement alarm?.

I have a security lighting system fitted with an 1803. The signal to turn on the lighting is taken from an infra red beam and sensor set up acrosss our drive so that when the beam is broken the light comes on. To prevent the light coming on in the daytime, there is a PIR wired up to only provide the 1803 with a photocell reading - i.e. it isn't used to detect motion. In additon there is a buzzer and control switch in the form of the 1809. The photocell element stopped working about a year ago, meaning the light would come on in the daytime. Now the 1803 has stopped working correctly as the light will not go out and the buzzer only works intermittantly. I am go…

I recently purchased some Voltek security light equipment from you, and I am trying to connect it up, but I am stuggling with the Securilite TZX 1819 Command Centre. The wiring diagram shows to connect the 1812 unit to the 1819 unit as + to +, - to -, S1 to S1 etc. Although the 1812 unit is clearly labelled, there is no indication on the 7 screw terminals on the 1819 unit which terminal is +, which is - etc. Do you have any ideas?

  11. Hi. I'm looking to buy the Genie IR lights on an ongoing basis for various projects as they come up for us (eg product no. 13/24. I will often be looking to run them off a 12V DC supply. Can you recommend the appropriate power adaptor please?

Can you please tell me which one of these two products, GJD Mini Opal External PIR or Opal XL 12V PIR 35 m works with an older version of a GJD controller - it has a 6 wire configuration. The old ones - have disintegrated lenses due to UV light - they have GJD on the inside of the housings and they have a pan-tilt PIR but no model number if this helps. I've looked on your site regarding the new types of controllers which are very similar to the type that have been installed. Once I know if either are compatible I will need to order.

Just been to look at a fault - PIR sensor controlling one bulkhead light, and, it seems, some kind of automatic door bell. PIR unit has the following info - There's no Brand label. 'Live carrier Unit'. Type PRI Q18T 6220 G3. Max load 1200W Basically, the bulkhead light won't switch off once the PIR unit switches it on, and the doorbell won't stop chiming! I'm not sure how the doorbell thing is controlled - All there is, is a white plug-in box (looks like a Mains adaptor) which you can plug in anywhere in the house, so I am guessing there's some wireless involved. There must be some kind of carrier signal being triggered into the mains when the PIR…

  14. My old security light control box (Racal Guardall RLC1) has packed up after many years of use. It appears this Company no longer exists so I contacted Security Warehouse for advice. They told me that if it is a single zone system (I have 6 lights and four PIRs outside) I will need a GJD005 Sapphire Mk3 control box. I duly bought one. However, when I eventually got an electrician to call he told me the wiring wasn't compatible as the old control box only had one output feed and the new one has more. As I know next to nothing about this issue, is there anyone who can give me advice and if so, in simple terms please?

Can someone please explain why 2 of the sensors work ok and turn the lights on but the other sensor doesnt turn the lights on but it is picking the movement as I have the audible tone on aswell. Should the tone work at night aswell as turning the lights on?? Thanks

    1. How can I choose between the vast number of Floodlights available, across an extraordinary price range ? My preferences are speed of ignition, lower brightness, lower energy, smaller size, weatherproofness, longer life and allows connection to two PIRs. Any choice suggestions ? 2. How can I wire this Floodlight to two PIRs (one inside, one outside my front door) to ensure it lights before I tackle the front steps from either direction.

  17. Hi, I have a GJD emerald mk3 system with 3 sensors and 3 lights and I hope somebody can tell me why the lights are coming on in daylight. Nothing has been changed on the system and for about the last 3 months they have been plying about!!! The system is quite a few years old now and I was wondering if the opal sensors or the main panel should be replaced. Thanks Steve

  18. Started by HOW,

Hi - I have installed a GJD external lighting setup on a home. It has 4 zones. In the house there are two 2 zone wiring boxes and a 4 way control panel. These extend out to the garage where there is an additional wiring box for zone 1 and 2 and a remote 4 way control panel. This was all installed 2 years ago and has been working fine since. It is a great system. It has however just started causing a problem where the lights are coming on and staying on all the time. if you reset the system it will work for anything from 30 mins to 6 hours or so and then all the lights will come on usually for all 4 zones and stay on. They even come on for zone 3 which is off on the contro…

  19. Have just installed a 4 zone controller, DygiZone (GJD910) and expansion panel (GJD040) with 7 Mini Opal external PIRs (GJD 332). During the installation and initial setting of the PIR’s I had to remove each cover several times. Some of the PIR’s retained their Hex retaining screw with a plastic washer but quite a few them fell out. Inevitably with such a small screw I managed to lose 2 of them. Is it possible to get hold of replacement screws and washers through security warehouse? If not do you have the specification? I could do with at least 6. I have also recorded a voice message for each lighting zone but the quality of the recording isn’t very good. Sounds like …

Could you please advise on suitable outdoor sensors to control outdoor security lights (already installed). I require 3 corner mounted sensors with a minimum range of 12 mtrs and 1 standard mount with a range of 20m (if possible). All will be exposed to the weather and all should be in black. I live in the countryside and do get deer & foxes in the garden, are these likely to trigger the sensors? Regards, puzzled

I was dissapointed to find the Bosch blueline range were not suitable for outdoor use as I have request for a backdoor light in a rural environment where bats birds and badgers roam freely. Does anyone know of an equivalent product product without getting into expensive wireless systems? The other problem is that I would need either two of these units or one that would have a wide enough angle to operate on a corner

I was lookiat your Voltek Single Zone Control Unit - 1803. Would this allow me to run 5 security lights via parallel cabling into this unit and if one light activates then they would all activate at the same time? If not do you have such a set up that would so this? Also could youy advise on whether each light would need an individual PIR or could i install sensor(s) into the loop that would cause full activation of all the lights at once? Cheers Johno

Hi all Id like to add a speaking sounder to a lighting system (GJD) and want to warn anyone entering the protected area witha custom message, ie ' Warning beware of the dog etc etc' or 'GET OF MY LAAANND' lol Ideally id like to have the option of changing it as the requirement change. I have looked at the GJD http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=650 Multispecch but this looks like its designed for intruder alarms and internal speakers. Any Suggestions? Thanks

Dear Sir or Madam I want advice and information on products that you might have that would suit my needs. I want to automatically switch on my driveway lights when, after dark, a pedestrian or vehicle comes into the gateway or starts up the driveway upon leaving the house, so I will need two sensors. I would like to use break-beam technology rather than PIR so that I can have the beam approximately 75 to 100 centimetres off the ground where it will not be triggered by dogs etc. I expect that when the beam is broken a signal will be sent to switching circuitry inside the house which will turn on the lights. The lights should stay on for about 5 minutes before turning off a…
