Intruder Alarms

Hello, My alarm panel has packed up so I'm replacing it. The bellbox has seen better days so replacing that as well. My original was a Scantronic 9448 so am going for the 9448EUR-90 control panel but can't decide which bellbox to go for. I'm stuck between Novagard 2 Merit , Ventcroft Compact Classic & Ventcroft Evolution. I want to know are they all compatable with my alarm system and which are reccomended? Thanks

Hi, I would like to fit a driveway alert (preferably wireless) so probably a narrow beam pir type thing, plus a gate openining alert. Basically when the gate opens or someone walks in the drive I would like a buzzer to go off inside the house. Is there an idiots kit?

Hi Guys I need some advice I have a five bedroom house, no pets, 2 children and need an alarm system lol. The incumbent is a old scantronic which needs to be replaced I need auto dial and all the usual good stuff [im a bit of a techy!] PIR - Quad Tec good? Any recommendations? In terms of the panel and PIR makes - what do people recommend? Ill need 2 Bell Boxes [one live one dummy] Total PIRs : 6 Door contacts : 4 Dont mind if its code or key fob Any recommendations?

I am upgrading the alarm system in my home and I am looking for... 1/. A quality detector to use in my conservatory which, being on the SW side of the house, experiences very high temperatures in the summer the obvious changes from direct sunlight to shade. I also have a problem in that the ideal location - where the sun will not strike the unit - has a piece of furniture obstructing. So I can only site in a position where at times the sun may actually strike the unit. Ideally I would like a unit that incorporates glass break detection 2/. We have a log cabin. Hi - I have a Scantronic 500r+ wireless alarm system - and need to add a new movement detector sensor to the system for our kithen. Ive looked on your website and there seem to be a number of different movement detectors that go with Scantronic wireless systems - so wondered if you could advise which one would be best to add to out system. Our present detectors are all square-ish - and there are a couple that look similar - but could you pl let me have a model no I should order? I have a few questions about this product that I am hoping someone can answer. 1. The product has an in-built microphone. Is it also possible to attach an external microphone (like Texecom's voice dialler)? 2. Are the remote functions (e.g. memo playback, listen in etc) accessible through both the GSM route and the normal telephone line. 3. What's the best method for provide back-up power? Thanks.

Hello I have managed to obtain a copy of Wintex(v5) and the Veritas UDL. I've read that Wintex can also allow the programming of the veritas excel. Is this true? I can't find the option under "account" that allows you to choose a veritas; the list just has the premier systems... With the Veritas UDL am I required to buy a texecom PC-COM? Can't I just make my own RS232 using the tx rx and 0v (pinout 2 3 5 on the rs232) Can you please tell me whether or not I can build my own cable?

Hello I have installed system now, only one Magnet contat for Door entry.(Elmdene EN3-LSC) I've done programming. Disable all but door contact. When arming system: Door 'n Hall fails. System don't arm, only beeping( Program 1 set). Walk test gives 0 to Door What's wrong: is my door contact wrong kind, maybe false wiring or missprogramming ? Please help ! Respect !

Hello, I wonder if you may be able to help. We decided upon the security firm to upgrade our existing alarm as they offered what we thought suited us better than the other three firms wanted to install. However, three weeks later we are thinking maybe we should have used someone else. Just one of the queeries I had, and asked about was the actual calibration of the shock sensors, I was told thay are fine, they work as they are, they don't need any adjustment. I seem to recall many many many years ago seeing an installer spending a good while going through each room calibrating each and every shock sensor, maybe this is not required and technology has moved on…

Hello can anybody give me some advice on adjusting the volume on the above alarm system to low, altering the volume adjustment on the PCB has no effect the volume tone is quite loud, I had an accenta 8 system previously installed and had the same problem?. There is an intenal speaker fitted. Thanks

Subject says it all really: I've installed a Scantronic 9651EN-43 into an existing "wired" house and extended the system using the Visonic MCT-302/MCR-308R wireless system. I've linked the Visonic zone output into the 9651 zones and also linked the anti-tamper into the main loop as well. The Visonic can send a low battery warning and I need some suggestions as to how the 9651 can handle this? Obviously, it needs to bring the warning to the home owner's attention, but it can't prevent setting the system or set off a full-blown alarm if it occurs whilst the system is set. Hi, I am interested in the Visonic PowerMaster 33 but see that the panel itself only comes in a kit. I would like to add some items to the kit (additional chicklets, PIRs and a GSM-350) but also remove some items (door contact and per friendly PIRs). It is possible to modify the contents of the PowerMaster 33 kit so I do not have to purchase items I will not use ? Also is the SR-740 included in the kit the rectangular or hexagonal one ? Thanks,

Hi All, I have a Pyronix V2 GSM dialler. Previously I could dial into the V2, enter the User Code, then enter the remote control menu. I have not changed any settings, but the User Code is now not being accepted when dialing in (the system voice just requests multiple times for a User Code to be entered, then it times out). I have checked: - The User Code still works when entered directly into the V2 using the keypad. - Status SMS messages are still responded to in the normal manner. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Many thanks in advance Mike

Eurosec CPX Panel & LCD KP, I have a site with wired detectors/door contacts/sounder + 2/3 wireless detectors so was thinking of this panel. What wireless PIR's/Door Contacts will suit and is there anything else u require for the wireless PIR's/Door Contact to communicate with the CPX, or is the CPX all set up to accept wirelss detectors ? What about the G-Tag, is this already built in to the KPads, so all u require are the Keyfobs ? Scantronic Homelink 55 Hybrid with LCD KP - as above basically, can u mix Wired/Wireless detectors etc. thx Mark.
