I have fitted a wired intruder alarm system within my house and wonder if you could confirm I can install a wireless detector in an external building with a wireless receiver next to and connected to the wired system panel. If it is possible could you suggest the equipment I would need. There are spare zones on the wired panel and I would only need one zone on the wireless receiver.

Hi guys, I’m curently using a couple of Texecom RF 360 PIR sensors (from your good selves). I’ve had them in place for several years covering some common hall/landing areas, all good. Last year I got a cat… Even on pulse count=2 these sensors are not pet immune, and as a result I’ve had to stop arming the alarm, otherwise the cat will set off false alarms all the time. ? I need to stick with 360 ceiling mounted sensors as the wiring is in place inside a finished ceiling. I have a little void, so I could potentially change from surface to recessed flush mounting if necessary… Is there such a thing as a pet immune 360 ceiling PIR? would perh…

Hi! I purchased an alarm system, a Viasonic Powermax+, from you in september 2009. Since we have 3 cats (weight 4,2 4,2 and 3,5 kg) I got the pet tolerant PIR:s. Tha alarm has been working perfectly until last night when we all woke up from the sounding alarm. When you wake up at 4 AM from a deep sleep and realize that the alarm you have come to rely on not giving false alarms, is sounding, you get up really quick, I promise. Armed with a knife and a steel pipe I searched the house but found nothing. Since we have a lot of snow I could also check for tracks outside the windows and back door, but nothing. I am 100% sure it was a false alarm and it was a PIR in…

full Texecom Veritas Excel alarm system After a busy couple of weeks I finally got to installing it this morning. I didn't wire the end station to my field devices just yet, I just linked one of the remote keypads to program my own user codes in. Following the manual, I powered with the battery first and the panel powered up for around 30 seconds but then switched back off (I had just disarmed the panel with the default code and was about to enter the programming menu). I tried powering up again but the panel didn't switch on. I then disconnected the keypad and tried it again with battery and then on mains, nothing happened. No LEDs or anything... The batt…

Hello I am having trouble finding a suitable hybrid wired/wireless alarm system. I have owned an alarm system in Australia, but I am having trouble finding a solution which re-creates the features that alarm had. The panel is for domestic purposes, and I would like it to have: * A wired door entry pin code pad * Be able to use a mixture of wired and wireless PIR/Glass break detectors/and shock detectors (Last one where possible) * The door contacts must be wireless, and as discrete as possible * Wired external bell box/strobe * The panel must be able to do part sets : eg, night mode > full perimeter armed, internal PIRs off, no delay on front door Home mode > Selecta…

Eaton I-on 10-50 Zone Expandable control panel https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-equipment-c-36/security-control-panels-c-36_102/110-input-zone-small-c-36_102_101/eaton-ion-1050-zone-expandable-control-panel-p-5752.html Will this work with radio smoke detectors? Is this compatible with manual fire alarm call points? And finally will this need some sort of relay box to work with a speech dialer? Thanks.

my omicron 7000 intruder alarm is giving problems. I think the panel is OK, but the outside bell box doesn't sound.I intend to first replace the bellbox, if this don't resolve the problem then I will replace the control panel. Or do you recommend that I just update and replace both items. I want to reuse the wiring and security devices. can you please recommend a suitable reliable replacement and give me some idea of the cost of the units. many thanks David

I am trying to install Scantronic 9448EUR-90 board with two Takex MS100E multi pattern sensors connected in series on Zone 2 (all other zones are disabled) and Elmdene Quartz 1000live sounder. My problem is that control panel shows temper fault - all boxes are closed, all cable connections verified. If I reset the panel by disconnecting battery and main supply the temper light will go off Zone 2 light will go on and when you try to set the alarm with users code the temper lights come up on again. Could somebody recommend how I can solved the problem?

We have a Scantronic 9752 system with 2 9955 rfx expanders. The zone in the garage has a dual tech pir and transmitted using a 735r. About every two days we get a Sup Fail message on this zone. Distance is about 45 yards - easy line of sight and only a thin slate roof for the signal to get through. Suspecting the transmitter was not strong enough we recently bought from you the 703r transmitter and unfortunately still have the same problem. We tried the zone on both 9955 receivers which both show a signal stength of 6. So we have effectively changed the transmitter and the receiver and appear to have a good signal but are still getting Sup fail messages. Any idea what …

Hi my name is Jack, and I live and work in Finland. Finland is home to the Abloy un-pick-able un-bump-able lock, secure doors that open towards you and triple glazed windows. it also has a very low crime rate however crime is on the rise. And robbery is happening but still it seams no one here has home alarm systems! With a secure property why need one right?? ..... wrong Most people here have summer houses, log cabins in the woods often 100s of km from there home. These summer houses are often near lakes with no one else permanently living close by and a lot of Fins have motorboats or kayaks, bicycles and many other summer toys and nice things that they keep …

Good afternoon, I consider buying a Visonic Powermaster33 system. My premises are in Germany, and operating a UK system in Germany may cause some headache (or not). Is it possible to connect said system to non-UK alarm response services? I have been told that UK systems are locked to UK response services which would render the whole system useless for people in other countries. I already know that there are some restrictions concerning the interoperability of devices. Please shade light on the topic. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have the task of extending an alarm system to cover a small external cupboard and am after some advice with regards to the type of sensor to use. The cupboard is 3ft wide x 4ft deep x 4ft tall... not huge... it has one of those tubular 45w heaters installed that is nearly permanently on over winter. The cupboard is secured by a heavy duty wooden door and what looks to be a fairly decent lock. The cupboard houses about
