Is the 9448 manual the same or similar to the 9448+ manual as I need to gain access to the panel without it going into full alarm. Or can anyone tell me how this can be done. I have installed many Optimas over the years but never got involved with Scantronic.

Good Afternoon We have a Scantronic 944ES intruder alarm system, but no manual. I would be very grateful if you could advise me if you are able to supply a manual for this particular model of alarm alternatively where we could get one from. Thank you in anticipation of your assistance Regards Lucy

Hi I recently purchased a communicator from ebay for my scantronic 9448+ panel. I thought it would be easy and it seems simple enough. I read the maunal and it says somethign about a lead being connected onto the board. I should be inside the backbox of the endstation but i dont have one. I spent

Is it necessary to solder in-line resistors to all the zone inputs i.e. E/E, PIR and door contacts? With my old Scantronic 9200 I just connected the contacts straight across the inputs on the PCB. The scematic shows a resistor on the e/e input. Thanks

Hello, My alarm panel has packed up so I'm replacing it. The bellbox has seen better days so replacing that as well. My original was a Scantronic 9448 so am going for the 9448EUR-90 control panel but can't decide which bellbox to go for. I'm stuck between Novagard 2 Merit , Ventcroft Compact Classic & Ventcroft Evolution. I want to know are they all compatable with my alarm system and which are reccomended? Thanks

I am trying to install Scantronic 9448EUR-90 board with two Takex MS100E multi pattern sensors connected in series on Zone 2 (all other zones are disabled) and Elmdene Quartz 1000live sounder. My problem is that control panel shows temper fault - all boxes are closed, all cable connections verified. If I reset the panel by disconnecting battery and main supply the temper light will go off Zone 2 light will go on and when you try to set the alarm with users code the temper lights come up on again. Could somebody recommend how I can solved the problem?

I have just moved into a house in Windsor that has a Scantronic 9454 system. The previous owner left the manual, but no other information about the system. Can you tell me whether Scantronics is still in business? If they are not, has anyone taken over servicing their installations? If so, would it be possible to arrange an engineer to visit to reset the system and enable us to use it. Hope you can help.

Hi. Does anybody know what the bell/strobe output is on this unit. I am changing a Scantronic 9200 control panel and don't want to have to buy a new bell unit. A link to a installation wiring diagram would be good! Thanks

Hello I'm hoping to replace my existing intruder alarm panel with the Scantronic 9561 series panel. I do see that securitywarehouse is selling both the EN, and UK models of 9561. Now I know that 9561EN is a grade 2 alarm, and that 9561UK is ungraded. Are there any other differences in the two? Basically my question boils down to: Which one of the two should I go for, considering the fact that its going to be DIY installation, so do I need the EN model? Is the UK model flushed with older software in comparison to the EN model? Why is the 9561UK slightly more expensive than the 9561EU, even though the EU model is graded, whereas the UK model is not? Tha…

I have a 9600 alarm installed and need to relocate the keypad, problem being the keypad is on a under stairs wall and the internal bell box is directly behind the keypad on the inside of the wall, the wire between the 2 is about 3” long, can I disconnect the bell? Move the keypad and reconnect the bell, I know the tamper will go off but will it be ok to just put the code in when it does go off ? thanks Tony

if you tech guys could answer this question for me it would be good. i have a customer who wants a small intruder alarm system in his outbuilding, im looking at using the scantronic 9651 en. what the customer does want tho is a chime function on an external detector (so he knows when someone is approaching when he is in the back room) this detector does not want to be on the alarm system when set. can it be programed as not used but still with a chime? or am i going to have to put a smaller panel up to (scanny 9488) just to use the chime function and to keep it seperate from the intruder alarm? hope this makes sense ... and i hope you can help. regards ..H

(Apologies to those who have seen this post already. I realised that I had posed it on the wrong board.) Hi, I'm looking to purchase an alarm system. Currently my short list of panels are:- Texecom VERITAS EXCEL ADE Accenta Mini Gen4 Scantronic 9651 I was hedging on towards the 9651 until I read about a 'engineer code guard feature' that doesn't seem to work. Here is the link where I stumbled across this issue. Sorry it's a bit long, but towards the end of the page they say that it is a software problem although not openly admitted by the manufacturer. http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/lofiversion/index.php?t24279-0.html I suppose on…

I am having difficulty in setting up this unit. My main exit entry is via zone 5 full set A. At night the main exit rout is via zone 2 and set with B. The problem is that if you enter through zone 5 when part set in B the system does not recognise zone 5 is open. Can anyone help?

The Scantronic alarm is situated in the hallway and the past couple of days an alarm keeps going off. It seems to happen when we close the door leading into the hallway or sometimes we do nothing to set it off. The error on the log says "Z01 TAMPER", so there is tampering in zone 1 but the installer didnt inform us on the zones in the house or even how many zones there are in the house. I would be tempted to omit the Zone 1 from the system, but I would be worried as I am guessing it is the zone that encompasses the front door/hallway. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

When fitting a Scantronic 9651 panel recently I noticed it had a rechargeable battery soldered onto the PCB. I guess this is to maintain settings it case of total power failure/disconnection. Does this have a design life of 5 years like most other re-chargeables?? If so it doesn't look like it was designed to be easily replaced. And how would you know it needed replacing anyway - until it's too late? Phil.

Hi, I recently fitted a scantronic panel and key pad for my parents after there old alarm system went faulty, I could do with some help programming the Scantronic: 1) Door chimes I am unsure weather this has to be activate in the engineers menu and how ? 2) Part Set for night time, I am also unsure how to disable the landing PIR and make it so they have time to access the key pad down on the hall way that is covered by another PIR. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Having just commissioned a 9651 I've been testing out event logging for the system. I isolated the mains supply, hopping to invoke a mains fail alert. The RKP recorded the event properly, but interrogation of the event log showed no mains fail alerts. I carried out this mains fail test for both set and unset modes with the same result. Do I have to enable logging for this type of event somehow, or should it be enabled automatically? Or perhaps there's a timer on mains fail events and I didn't leave the mains off long enough? Any ideas? thanks John

What battery do you recommend for this combination? Does the 9651EN-43 include a speaker? If not can you recommend one? Thanks John
