Intruder Alarms

I have a GC Simon wireless alarm system (model: 60-911-010-4-IE) and one of my door sensors has developed a problem and needs to be replaced. However I am having great difficulty in sourcing a suitable replacement. I did by a recommended replacement from the USA but this did not work. I think because the system I have is 433Mhz and the new sensor was 319Mhz. Can you recommend a replacement sensor and where I may purchase same. Thanks in advance and regards

My new house was pre-wired for a hard wired alarm which I planned to fit myself. The guy who run the cabling did a good job except he did not wire for contacts on the doors. There is no chance to wire them now as I cannot run cables thrugh the dry wall panels. My solution I think is something like a Homelink 55 I will have 6 PIR, three door contacts, and two RKP's as I have a point upstairs for night setting the system. Can I add a second 9943 RKP to the Homelink 55 ? The Homelink 55 has 6 wired zones which would cover the PIR's. I hope I could use wireless contacts for the rest. I have a Simon3 alarm 433mhz and was wondering if your advertised sensor (Risco wisdom wireless door sensor 433mhz sensor)will work as a replacement and should the simon3 alarm learn this new sensor?

My keypad has given up the ghost with some butons not working so I cannot disable the alarm with the code. I've taken off the keypad and it has 4 wires connected. It looks very simple to replace so is it simply a case of buying a replacement and installing in the same manner? When I reconnect the power and the alarm starts going, I should be able to enter my code and all is back to normal? Or is it more complicated than that? I've been quoted for a replacment & fitting but it seems such a simple job to do yourself. Do I need to be aware of anything else?

Please can you clarify whether it is possible to have the Receiver and the Transmitter running on/from different power supplies. We have asituation where the alarm power supply cannot be supplied to the transmitter but can be to the receiver, so in theory it will function. If it is possible, do you have such a power supply - we assume a plug in transformer will do.

I have an optima gene4(8EP396A) I want to install a remote keypad can I use a optima lcd (8EP417A) with this panel or do I have to use an led keypad.Please can you instruct what is best to use with this panel.

I purchased the above from you as a replacement for one in which some of the pressure pads are not working. When installed, will the new unit retain my original 4 digit code?

Can you tell me if I were to buy 2 or 3 different system PIR's would they all work in any alarm system. I have a system fitted that requires additional PIR units for more protection. I have had a home security police team look over my house. I would be grateful for any advice on this matter.

I have just orderd a ADE Optima gen4 8 zone from you. It will replace a c&k Active 5. I have the Engineers code for engineering mode. The problem is I can not stop the bell box from sounding when I disconect the bell wiring or when I try to open the bell box. The bell box was fitted and suppled by Abacus and is about 3 years old. Hi I am stuck with looking at the diagrams to wire up ressistors for the alarm. I have bought flush door magnets with out resistors. Could you send me a picture or diagram how to wire up Double pole EOL resisstors for the Texecom Premier 48 panel? i bought the honewell EMPS-75 w magnetic contacts.

Item Scantronic 9651UK with 9941 keypad. I installed this control unit to replace another 9651 unit which had developed a fault. After installation I tried to exit the 'Installer Mode' and the unit reported 'Zone Flt' on zones Z01 through Z08 and the Service LED is permanently illuminated. I have checked power to the Ziper intruder detectors and circuit continuity for the FSLs and they seem to be OK. I did notice that the 9651 unit had a manufacturer's date of Jan 05, so it seems to have been in storage for some considerable time but that aside I would appreciate some assistance in identifying where the problem lies and if it is a defective unit, getting it swapped out.…

What is the differences between the CQR FW/GD04 Communicator (GSM) and the visonic GSM-100? Are there any other gsm-modules that are compatible with the pm+? My pm+ controlpanel is bought in sweden, will I have any problems if I buy any of the gsm-modules you have from UK? Will the sms-messages still be in swedish?

In my house I got a security system called Gardtec and i think it is Risco / Gardtec Contour LED RKP (580 series) because mine does look like this one as it is show on this website. i would like to use this security system however i cant reset the program or set it. I been looking on the internet i belive i need the engineer code or master code to reset the program but i dont have this codes. Could you please help me where or how can i get this codes to reset it or how much is it cost for engineer to come to do it for me !? I need to replace a couple of PIRs and am looking at some which have eol resistors built in. They will be in a circuit wired in series - just the 2 - and there is already an eol resistor wired into the circuit at the panel. Can these PIRs be switched so that they show zero resistance as I am not sure what adding extra resistance into the circuit would be handled by the very old panel.

Hi all I'm new to this forum, so please excuse my lack of technical knowledge. A couple of days ago I was moving stuff around under my staircase where I have an Alarm panel covered inside its metal casing. I'm certain I did not touch it, suddenly the house alarm went off and the Keypad panel was showing Bell fuse fault. I went ahead and replaced the bell fuse and it but it kept blowing. I had the alarm engineer who installed it come round and he disconnected all wiring to the PCB and still fuse kept blowing.
