Intruder Alarms

HI, Should the KP-250 keypad play sounds? I can hear beeps when i press buttons however there is no count down when the alarm is setting, there is no sound when a recorded message is played and there is no chime when the door opens... Am i missing something? i have turned the volume up - the beep gets louder. I have pressed 8 and the alert(bell) icon is lit and the chime is set to on and melody chime. Do i need another speaker installing or is my keypad faulty? Thanks in advance

hi, I am looking at the "Takex 20m Ext/40m Int 4 Channel Twin beams inc Pole Clamps" for use on scaffolding and was looking for some advice on suitable keypads and sounders to go along with it looking to buy a whole alarm set pretty ASAP to try with the intention of buying more and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have a Texecom R8 house alarm. I need to replace the main circuit board, so I thought I would upgrade to the Excel, use the Existing R8 as a remote keypad in an alternative location and install an new PIR sensor while I was at it. The question is. Is the existing R8 keypad compatible with the Excel board? (as an additional remote keypad) and will the existing PIR sensors operate correctly? Do you use any further problems? i purchased a Scantronic 9427 Keypad andI need to know what what jumpers on the keypad to change to address it as as second keypad.. The first keypad has the links positioned so as no pins are connected together, so i assume that the second one needs two pins linking together to address it as a second keypad .. i have a Scantronic 9448+ panel...

Hi I am a newbie here, I had an older alarm panel and as the PIR's were rubbish I replaced all the PIR's with new Bosch ones, but the control panel tamper sensors have had it so now I need a new control panel. I would really like to fit a door contact or virbration sensor to the rear patio doors but it would be a real pain to get a cable to it. Are there any wireless panels that could accept wired and wireless sensors? I am happy with all the other sensors I have so I don't want to install a complete wireless system. I had some difficulty with the, Honeywell Reson8 Bell Box during install at the weekend, i could not get SCB functionality to work, i initially thought the wiring may be damaged so i took the box to the control panel with a short cable and tried again, to no avail, the circuit on the sounder does not seem to react when the spring is depressed, and the case is shut. and the Green Indicator does not come on at any point. I have managed to use the sounder as sounder and strobe only, but wondering if there is anything else i can do to resolve, as the customer would like the lights on the sounder to flash and show the box is live.

Can I connect a telephone dialler to the Optima 8EP396A . The instruction manual says the communicator is not fitted to the Optima Compact.

I need to replace 2 brown sensors for white sensors. The sensors I have are GS612 and a GS620 I believe. My front door is as previously fitted a normal opening door. The rear door has been changed from a sliding door to french style opening doors. Both doors also have magnetic opening strips in addition to the shock sensor. Can you tell me what the differences are between the sensors? Do they use the same wiring? Should I be changing them like for like?

Hi, I received delivery of the MCS-710 a week ago. Upon installation the test button sounds the siren after 5 seconds, but it will not enrol with the Visonic Powermax base. There does not appear to be any wireless transmission. Regards

From product information on the manufacturer's website I was under the impression that the backup battery was supplied with the Scantronic i-on 40. Since this is not the case can you recommend a suitable battery for this system?

My first question is can you confirm the total load current of the AG6 is 260mA max as I seen else where figures higher than this. The total load for the Logic six is only 1A. My second question is could the second AG6 be wired with only the strobe operating but keeping the anti tamper working? If so how would this be wired?
