I have a 20+ year old burglar system. I plan to get Texecom Veritas R8 panel. 1. Are there likely to be problems connecting to existing bell and PIRs? 2. Do I need Veritas R8, rather than Veritas, if I want to connect Speech unit at a later stage? Thank you.

Hi, We have one a 'Gardtec 800' system installed in a premises in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland. We need to order a new Keypad for the system, as the display is not functioning correctly. It is a 6 wired keypad. Could you recommend a keypad, or would it be best to completely replace the control box and keypad panel? If we could get your advise on the above it would be much appreciated.

Hi, I have just bought from you the Honeywell galaxy g2-12 and mk7 keypad, Honeywell 8IR150 pirs and AG6 bell box, plus Knight G2 5 door contacts. Can you please advise how to wire a pir at the pir end and panel end and where to place resistors. The g2-12 to keypad appears straightforward but does it need a resistor at the keypad end between A and B. Also do all unused zones need a resistor across them to terminate. Could you also confirm bellbox wiring to panel.

  10. Hi, I am about to move into a 200m² 4 bedroom detached house in the countryside, I've never had an alarm at a house before, but my wife is worried that as this is more isolated than previous houses (nearest house is ~100m away), that we are at a higher risk than our previous central village location. I am intending on a DIY install, I'm reasonably confident at my capabilities in laying & connecting wiring and drilling holes and am a computer programmer by trade, so would hope the programming side wouldn't beat me! After quite a lot of research I think I've settled on the Honeywell Flex 20. As the whole house needs decorating, I'm not really looking for a pri…

  22. The systems re-starts itself making impossible to use is as it fires the alarms every time the systems re-starts. The system installation was installed about 2 weeks ago and at the beginning, about every day, at any time (middle of the night or right in the afternoon) the systems alarm was on but with NO intruder detection as the system was NOT armed. Watching the log events, every time that it fails, shows “START UP” and “MAINS OK” and the LCD Keypad shows new date and time as when start up for first time (like default factory data). With this information, I understand that power is being lost for some reason so I changed the main power supply connections just to make …

Hello again I've recently come across a fault with the above type of detector. I seem to be getting either the sensor false firing or possible emc problems. I've lowered the sensitivity with the internal jumper but the fault is still present, all connections and continuity through cable seems to be good this is why I'm now thinking it could be emc. If it is emc does anyone know of a cure that doesn't involve re-running of cable. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
