Intruder Alarms

Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. Hi, I am interested in the Visonic Power master alarm to install in a carehome I look after. I have seen one of these systems before and it seems to work well. I need the system to have two door contacts, the most important feature the home is looking for is the door chime feature so I need this to be quite loud, is it? The alarm feature will be loud enough, they always are, this will only be set at night with no PIR required as there will be movement in the house, so still just the door sensors. I have fitted a challenger model before and the chime function was nowhere near loud enough so I am hoping this is better, it did seem to be on the one I seen. If not, is there a…

  7. Hello, we have just had an outside office built - detached from the house by 1m. We currently have an Accenta G3 hard-wired panel with three spare zones. If I purchase Texecom GEC-0002 Ricichet Expansion pack and three Ricochet PIRs, will it allow me to attach the three wireless detectors to the spare zones? Your advice would be most welcome.

I just bought a SPC4320, SPCN310, SPCK623. The read me first datasheet tells: " you must ensure the peripheral firmware revision is the same as, or greater than the firmware revision of the SPC controller". On my SPC4320 controller, the firmware is V3.4.5. What must the firmware version for the SPCN310 and SPCK623? I tell this question because, the SPCN310 is in fault (error code E51) and the SPCK doesn't make voice annuniciation. What does error code E51 means? Thanks in advance SM

  13. Started by Secware,

The 6 stand-by batteries in the main panel are not being trickle charged. Replacing them with fully charged new ones (1.37V) gets the system working correctly in all respects but only for approx 3 hours. The cells are then down to 1.2V off-load. Have you any information regarding the charging circuit that could allow me to investigate further and possibly repair? Your website indicates that the Homelink 75 is “sold out”. If I need to purchase a replacement system can you please recommend a suitable model Having had further time to think, it would seem logical to assume that the panel’s internal power supply is not producing anything at all - not just the battery charg…

I'm having some problems in getting the CQR SC517 to work with the Premier Elite 48 panel. 5 contacts work as intended and they are setup the way that I cut T1,T2 and the red wires giving the correct restiance towards the Texecom (Double Pole / EOL), in Wintex they work perfectly. 10 contacts do not work, gap is the same between the contact and the magnet 6-10 mm. The do not work, same resistors are cut. In Wintex they report tamper alarm. Any ideeas ?

Hello, Can we assign different sirens (I want 2 sirens) depending on the zones or suites on Texecom Premier elite 44 or more.

  17. Hi, i recently ordered some extra window/door sensor and an external siren for my Visonic Power Master 10 ADT Branded alarm. I have added a few sensors in the past with no problems but both door switches and the siren will not communicate with my alarm panel. When I add the device and press the auto-acquire button on the new sensor the panel tells me it is not a compatible device. So i tried entering the 7 digit number and now the panel said it is not registered on the network. Thinking it may be my panel at fault i tried to register them on a neighbours panel with the same results please advise?

  18. I would greatly appreciate if you let me know if the above mentioned receiver can convert my existing hardwired Cisco 601 allarm panel sytem. If so, do I need additional devices to make it fully controllable by mobile.

I’m currently considering renewing my current wired alarm system (9450) and increasing the zones to at least eight, as offered in the Secware ADE LCD Accenta 3x Optex Saver PIR starter kit. I’ll be exchanging the external bell sounder which this kit appears to accommodate all those requirements, I’d also like to exchange my two battery operated smoke sensors to wired units. What can you suggest or recommend any other?

  20. Can you please advise a suitable alarm system that is wireless but has a wired siren?

  21. Now I've finally manage to install the alarm and test it. Everything seems to work fine except for one thing. I keep getting error message on line (line failure). I have connected a GSM module and no fixed phone line is connected. GSM-module works fine as I received an SMS on everything that happens or goes wrong. I must have changed somewhere in the menu to indicate that the center is connected to fixed telephone line! though it is not. I'm very grateful if anyone can help me with this.

Hi! Can anyone give me a reason to why my PowerMax+ have started to set off "Trouble alarms". Almost the same alarms every time. I need guidance in what to look for. When I check the log, it shows: * System jammed * Line Failure * AC failure (only the first time and the power were on all the time) and then * RF Restore So far it has happened twice in a month. Both times when the alarm is off (the first time the alarm were set off half a minute after disarming the alarm from HOME setting, the second time about 30 min after disarming AWAY. First time, the alarm were reset while I was checking the log (less than 2 min after the alarm set off), the second time i…

  25. Started by ask121,

I have a cooper security 9651 panel. I'm rewiring the panel from global tamper to FSL because i've been told its more secure. I've wired single PIR zones with no trouble but when there is more than one PIR or surface contact or Panic button it shows tamper in walk test. If I one device is open at once in a zone, its fine but if I open two or more devices in one zone, the panel detects tamper. (E.g. When I open one door in Zone 7, the panel doesn't say tamper but when I open a door and a window in Zone 7 the panel will detect tamper) Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks Krishan
