Intruder Alarms

upon power uo of my recently purchased optima gen4 copact alarm the alarm sounds- enter code 0123 and the alarm siren silences. i have no flashing tamper light despite the cover being off,i have a flashing sos led which will not go out whatever i press? i have the global tamper pa & ta terminals shorted out but still am unable to extinguish the sos led. do you think the unit is faulty or am i missing something obvious

I am looking to upgrade the security at one of our premises using a Net enabled alarm and CCTV system I note one option is the new Honeywell alarm system in the Galaxy range , assuming you cover it, could you pl update the costs for the model called Galaxy Flex. Also wanted to know if you have option to connect outdoor IR Sensor at the perimeter, to these alarm system. My local engineer told me that I-on 40 that you offer can be connected to these systems, eg BX-80N or NR model from OPTEX. Can this also be connected to galaxy model eg dimension flex etc

I am working on a project with one of our clients. We are installing Gallagher system for them - https://security.gallagher.com/. One of their requirements is to have wireless sensors on windows connected to the Gallagher system. I was told i could use this Wireless Receiver. But do you know which sensor i could use? For example we have Ajax sensors on hand. Do you have any experience with this type of setup? look forward hearing from you.

hi there can you please help asap i have got a pyronix bell box off you and a veritas alarm system i have installed it for my costumer and every thing works except when the alarm goes off the bell box does not the strobe works and when you take off the front of the bell box it stets off the alarm and works it self .

(outdoor) Blueline PIR Detector We live on a very large property with three large dogs in the garden. 2.What I would like to do is divide the property into 4 security zones which can be armed and disarmed independently. On 30 April 2015 you delivered my order including Scantronic 9651 + 9943 keypad,, 2 off Guardall PQ15 PIR, plus cable and brackets. I hang my head to admit that I am only now finishing the modification to an existing system for which I ordered the parts. Cause of the change was that the original installer had run one cable to 2 back-to-back PIR, and the cable route was forced in beside central heating pipes etc and seemed to be frequent intermittent giving faults. I have resited one PIR which I replaced with a PQ15, and added an additional PIR to the system. I ran new cable to both PIR. I am about to place an order for a Scantronic 9651EN-41 (9651 c/w 9941 rkp)with a remote keypad and tags etc. You do not seem to have a Scantronic external sounder. Are all the sounders you have of othr makes compatible with this control panel?

Can anyone recommend a simple wired alarm system with support for maybe 2 door contacts, and 4-6 PIR's. I'd like one with GSM support to SMS me when an alarm event is triggered. I purchased a Powermax plus alarm system from yourselves 3.5 years ago. Has been working fine, but I seem to have lost the Master User code, I did change them from the default. It has been working perfectly but I now need to remove a sensor from the system. How can I reset the codes. I tried the jumper reset but this had no effect.

Hi, I wonder if you can help. I have an alarm system Networker ((Menvier) TS690R and need some additional wireless pir sensors. From what I can see they don't make the alarm system any more, but looking at your site it appears the Scantronic pir's maybe compatible?

My Pyronix vocaliser has lost it's speech but still dials out upon activation. Also I cannot edit the the numbers it dials.What is the best replacement dialer/speech vocaliser I can replace it with or would a NVM chip replacement resolve this issue?

The keypad panel on my Flex 20 is showing a series of stars. Whilst I was away we had a thunder storm which knocked out my internet (it impacted the router). It also appears to have knocked out the intruder alarm, which sat next to it. When I went to check it there was no power coming out from the panels 15v power supply. I subsequently plugged in a 12 volt one which powered up the alarm and the keypad, which is now displaying a series of stars / asterisks, and is non responsive. In some reason dialer installed at customer site is not working properly. Condition of test I did: 1) Dialler installed next to Master BT socket 2) Line is connected to "Line A" and "Line B" on the dialler 3) BT socket connected to "Tel A" and "Tel B" on the dialler 4) All devices disconnected from BT socket (eg Telephones, Card Payments Machines, Routers) After alarm is triggered I get the below in random order: 1) Sometimes I receive phone call from dialer and there is just silent for about 60sec 2) Sometimes is just message to press confirmation code. Hi, I have recently installed electrically operated automatically opening curtains. These are triggering my alarm if it is set when the curtains open. Can you recommend a different PIR to the one above which will get around this problem please? Thanks

if you tech guys could answer this question for me it would be good. i have a customer who wants a small intruder alarm system in his outbuilding, im looking at using the scantronic 9651 en. what the customer does want tho is a chime function on an external detector (so he knows when someone is approaching when he is in the back room) this detector does not want to be on the alarm system when set. can it be programed as not used but still with a chime? or am i going to have to put a smaller panel up to (scanny 9488) just to use the chime function and to keep it seperate from the intruder alarm? hope this makes sense ... and i hope you can help. regards ..H

Hi there I'm thinking about installing the Telecom Elite Premier 48 in our home and I'd like to use the Connect communicator module. This module requires firmware version 4 but the SW website indicates that control panel is supplied with version 3. Is this the case, or is the website out of date? If it does come with version 3 then can it be upgraded and how? Are any extra parts such as PC communicator boards required? Many thanks Guy
