Intruder Alarms

Hi, I am trying to source an alarm that allows me to extract information about the state of window/ door and occupancy sensors. And I would also like set the alarm remotely if possible. I would like it to operate via one of the following Protocols: Modbus Mbus Bacnet I know that Honeywell offers an IP gateway, however the system doesn't output this information as standard. So this isn't suitable. However, another alarm system that uses a more open IP interface could work, although one of the above protcols would be better as I'm integrating it with a Priva BMS system. If anyone could offer any suggestions, that would be much appreciated. Fraser

I want to install a Texecom intruder alarm system into an apartment to replace a very basic RISCO panel. This has four wired RISCO PIR detectors and single entrance door with contact switch. It has one remote keypad My requirements are to keep the exiting PIRs and contact switch. Replace the keypad and have an auto dialler connected to analogue telephone. However I would like the option to send additional details alerts (stating what activated the alarm) via text message or email, and have the ability to view the event log via a PC as well as program and interrogate the control panel over TCP/IP. I am having difficulty in setting up this unit. My main exit entry is via zone 5 full set A. At night the main exit rout is via zone 2 and set with B. The problem is that if you enter through zone 5 when part set in B the system does not recognise zone 5 is open. Can anyone help?

Having had a Texecom R8 installed since 1996 the only thing that has now failed is the "5" on the Keypad, so I have replaced the old one with new 2010 version. The swap out has worked fine, but the Red Zone 1 & 3 lamps are on all the time, I have check the wiring and all is OK, and I have done the the scan for Keypads "0 9" from the new keypad, all appears to be OK, but the the Red Zone 1 & 3 lamps remain on (on the keypad) Date stamp on the Main box is also 1996, so is this a backwards compatabity issue with the new keypad and the old main box?

Hi, hoping you can help. Following a recent burglary thought I'd try and fix my alarm system! I've currently got a 12 year old Optima system that doesn't really work. Wondering if a new battery would fix it, or should I simply replace the unit with an upgrade? I have a number of wired sensors around the home, not sure if I should replace or keep? External sounder may also need an upgrade, as well as placing an additional box on the front of the house, not sure if I should fit a dummy box,or wire in an additional sounder? Two questions, a) can this be done and what detector(s) should I use. The use is in an office so probably should look at heat and smoke but toast protection not needed of course! In some reason dialer installed at customer site is not working properly. Hi everyone I just wondered if anyone can tell me if texecom Impaq glass sensor is compatible with the above system and if easier or even possible what wireless transmitters can be fitted to this system to save running new cable.

Just reduced the volume on the keypad by pressing and holding D then typing code 2000 to get into keypad menu. Adjusted to volume 1 and the sound reduce as this was completed. Pressed A to save and exit but keypad is frozen and no button works now. I can’t reset using numbers, proximity tag, key fob or app as access is denied. Need advice as to get the alarm working again. Help please.
