Intruder Alarms

Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. My current alarm Guardall Rascal Super is broken so needs replacing(we are using 4 programmed zones and chime). I'd like to replace the control unit unit and bellbox but use existing wiring, sensors and internal speaker. I'm looking at the MDT Avanti 8 and AG6 bellbox (current bellbox looks tatty and has no strobe). 1. Is the chime quite loud? We would like to hear if someone enters the house from the other side of the building. 2. The Rascall Super system is 12v and I think the Avanti 8 is 13.8v, will our existing sensors work with the new control unit?

  2. I am sorry to bother you again. Can you tell me please is it possible to get a wireless sender and receiver to fit inside the VERITAS R8 control panel as we have a garage that was alarmed that way as it is detached from the house and the old wireless sender is not compatible with your system. Also is there a code to open the panel to replace the battery as the installer took all the installation notes with him and he has gone to Australia for 3 months so i cannot contact him.

  3. have just installed my new control panel everthing working fine, just won't let me change the four digit code, have gone through the instructions given in user manual but it still only lets me use the factory set code to set the alarm, could you please give me some advice to correct this problem.

  4. I would like to know if you can help me specify a new system based on the Galaxy Dimension. I need it to be able to control 4 doors using mag locks / press to release. Video door entry integration and also intruder function. Proxy tag / swipe for enable/diable of the building alarm. I think I need a Galaxy Dimension GD-48 but need help with the other parts. You seem to be the best value and I need to make a purchase by next week at the latest.

  5. I have your verutas 8 and i have just added another remote key pad, all works fine but i cant seem to get out of engineers mode, i go to program and put my new code in but when it comes to full alarm it will only respond to 4 3 2 1 any surgestions?

Hi, I have ordered the Honeywell Accenta Mini G4 contorl panel with LCD remote keypad and is still waiting for the delivery. But my electrian has asked a question where should the control panel is located. He suggests to put it inside the cupboard next to the MCB board. However, I am thinking where is the internal bell? If it is inside the control panel, so I won't be able to hear the bell as the control panel is inside a cupboard and the door is shutted. However if the bell of the system is in the LCD keypad, there won't be any problem as it is located next to the entrance light switch. Qs: Is the internal bell inside the control panel? Qs: keypad descriptions in…

  15. We have an old Scantronic 500r. Reading the specs for an additional PIR (534r) and Vibe sensor (520r) suggests different possible frequencies. I understand the UK is 433 MHz, but the spec for the 534r shows "520REUR-50" as the model number. Given other info on your website I'm worried that the "EUR" and "UK" models are different frequencies. How ca nI check what ours operates at and can we specify that when ordering?

  16. Could you please advice on best pet friendly pir sensors

Hi, I'm trying to source a system for a mostly vacant property I own. Must have GSM ability, preferably with remote antenna, as most networks arent great. Minimum requirements for now 3 x PIR ( prefer wired ) 2 x Smokes ( prefer wired ) 2 x External siren/strobe ( wired ) 2 x Internal siren ( I want it to be loud inside ) Battery backup Most GSM systems seem to offer control via the mobile ? that would be handy. Also, although this is not a permanent install for now, I want the panel to be future proof. With perhaps addition of automatic-gates via mobile along with more PIR's and door contacts. Any reccomendations ? I have had one local guy price a…
