Hi, i purchased the simpleset reader with a G4 accent mini system in November 2009. I installed the system in January all worked great with 2 keypads and the simpleset at the front door exit point. This morning my wife set the alarm with the keyfob and returned 30 minutes later went to unset the alarm and it would not work.It just has a power on light and nothing else. All other aspects are fine and have tried a number of trouble shooting tests but its useless. Reading the forums, someone has had the same fault with a new item. Is the item under a 12 month warranty/replacement? We now cannot use the alarm which is a little worrying! Many thanks for your help.

have purchased the Honeywell model from you DT7450 and have just come to start fitting it. However looking at the instructions it states don't fit facing direct sunlight or facing windows yet its a "dual tech" that you recommended for a conservatory. I now that me previous conservatory had a similar model but as it was approaching ten years old and the size of a house brick, I thought I would replace it. Is this Honeywell model suitable?

I’m currently considering renewing my current wired alarm system (9450) and increasing the zones to at least eight, as offered in the Secware ADE LCD Accenta 3x Optex Saver PIR starter kit. I’ll be exchanging the external bell sounder which this kit appears to accommodate all those requirements, I’d also like to exchange my two battery operated smoke sensors to wired units. What can you suggest or recommend any other?

Hi, I have been looking to buy accessories for Visonic Powermaster 10G system of which I already have a panel and some accessories bought in Sweden. On many accessories it says "will only work with UK panels". Is this actually the case that I would not be able to get these to work with a panel bought in Sweden (sounds strange that Visonic would manufacture special equipment for UK only?)?

I understand that conventional unmonitored alarm system has 3 major components - keypad (to arm/disarm etc),control panel (which monitors sensors and sets an alarm when armed), dialer (if you want to call outside). I understand 'proper' system will have keypad separated from control panel and the control panel should be in a metal box in less accessible and visible place. so it should take sometime for an intruder to find it and smash it. however the question - what do you do with dialers? there are not a lot of places where the land line socket can be placed in the property hence intruder simply need to go quickly around (dialing a number and playing message shou…

I think before - the best way to protect a window was to have a foil running around the glass.. Now I see a lot of electronic gadgets. However I am not sure how reliable they are. Say vibration sensor. I guess it is easy to cut glass above/below such a sensor with diamond cutter and simply disconnect it with a knife or undo latches and open window slowly or get through not disturbing the sensor using the hole... I mean - if the intruder is an idiot and will smash the window with a brick it works but otherwise - unlikely... am I right? is there other means to protect glass area? If the window is obscure and design and beauty considerations arent important - is …

Hi all - first post here. Does anyone know if the Scantronic CS 430 pet immune PIR is the same as the Visonic K9-85? Wanted to buy the Visonic K9-85 on Security Warehouse but can't see it in the listings but the Scantronic is. Looks the same. As does the K9-80 with the Scantronic CS 440. I seem to remember that Scantronic and Menvier merged into one effectively but something tells me that Visonic are also with these guys too? Never ever had a problem with the K9-85's. Thanks.

I saw a website similar to ebay recently. One local guy is selling GSM jammers for a tenner or so. He had 10K feedbacks by the time I found it. I guess 9999 of them was bought by thieves. Hence I understand GSM alarms are placebo for the owners... My question however - the wireless alarm sensors work on frequencies close to GSM 300-900MHz right? So it should be fairly simple to mask sensors with a jammer. As long as the jammed sensors cannot send alarm signal to the control panel - the whole system is pecked... is this the right picture? (I mean the more expensive alarms must have somewhat a poll interval alarm but I guess that should be around 2+ minutes - in…

Hi, i recently ordered some extra window/door sensor and an external siren for my Visonic Power Master 10 ADT Branded alarm. I have added a few sensors in the past with no problems but both door switches and the siren will not communicate with my alarm panel. When I add the device and press the auto-acquire button on the new sensor the panel tells me it is not a compatible device. So i tried entering the 7 digit number and now the panel said it is not registered on the network. Thinking it may be my panel at fault i tried to register them on a neighbours panel with the same results please advise?

The wiring diagram suggests that for multiple keypads, the wiring should be serial i.e. from alarm panel into the first keypad then onto the second. My question is can I wire each keypad back to the alarm panel independantly (in start wiring), e.g. the comms connection at the alarm panel has two wires comming from it, one to the first keypad and one to the second keypad.
