Intruder Alarms

Hi can anyone help me, I have installed this alarm system myself and i can set it fully,however I cant part set it. I have gone through the programs ,program 1 does everything,program 2 i have set up to just do downstairs. I have gone through the manual and done as it says, but when i set the alarm it says that once the code is typed in and the countdown begins press 'P' and the tone will stop then press the program you wish ie. 2. But for me the countdown doesnt stop, I press 'P' and 2 and it does nothing and it still says program '1' on the LCD keypad. Please help before I use a hammer on it as it is very frustrating!!!!! The Scantronic alarm is situated in the hallway and the past couple of days an alarm keeps going off. It seems to happen when we close the door leading into the hallway or sometimes we do nothing to set it off. The error on the log says "Z01 TAMPER", so there is tampering in zone 1 but the installer didnt inform us on the zones in the house or even how many zones there are in the house. I would be tempted to omit the Zone 1 from the system, but I would be worried as I am guessing it is the zone that encompasses the front door/hallway. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm fairly sure I can interface the Reson8 bell box to an old RS alarm Panel I installed many years ago. The panel has (in order) + Hold off, - Hold off, -SW, +SW, -ExB, -ST-, + IntBell, - IntBell, +Buzz, -Buzz, -Tamp(Zone1),+Tamp(Zone1) Basically I cannot see how to connect the Tamper supply- and Tamper return- in the Wiring diagram. I am sticking with the wiring colours. I know it's quite serviceable.

HI, Should the KP-250 keypad play sounds? I can hear beeps when i press buttons however there is no count down when the alarm is setting, there is no sound when a recorded message is played and there is no chime when the door opens... Am i missing something? i have turned the volume up - the beep gets louder. I have pressed 8 and the alert(bell) icon is lit and the chime is set to on and melody chime. Do i need another speaker installing or is my keypad faulty? Thanks in advance

I would like to purchase a system with 8 zones (7 for PIR and 1 for fire) and two remote control panels. An external bell sounder is not required but an internal one and alerts via the internet/e-mail would be required. Please could you recommend a system that would cover these requirements.

I am replacing old ones of these. On the existing Optex EX-35R units is a sticker 869Mhz When I get these new ones, howh do I 'pair' it to the existing old Tunstall control unit, or how do I set the frequency to 869Mhz? Cheers in advance.

Just installed accenta g4 with a keypad upstairs and one downstairs. When i power on the system i dont get any text on the display, just backlight nad the first line where text should be all dots are on. Both keypads are wired back to the panel. Has anybody seen this before?

i`m installing my alarm that i purchased earlier this year. 1. the odyssey 1e, there are three switches inside, is it only the one for the battery to be placed on that i move? 2. i`m wiring to global tamper. can i twist all the power wires together and then insert into power terminals? 3. any zones that i do not use, do i need to use the staple like pieces? any help would be great, thanks...

Hello, Need a little help how to program different user and allocated zones for Veritas exel panel. Cannot understand the manual fully. Fitted 2 keypad and 1 panel. Keypads fitted to 2 seperate rooms. 1st room Main using door contact ..entry/exit and pir on zone 2 inhibit and zone 3 guard to cupboard contact. 3 users for this room + cleaner. 2nd room using zone 4 programmed as entry/exit. Have set all users their access 4 digit code and ok. How do I program 2nd room user zone 4 his own zone to arm and disarm without effecting the other room/zones on full arm. And 1st room programs not to effect room 2 Your help would be greatly appriciated. …

Hi, I received delivery of the MCS-710 a week ago. Upon installation the test button sounds the siren after 5 seconds, but it will not enrol with the Visonic Powermax base. There does not appear to be any wireless transmission. Regards

I'm looking for a recessed sensor for an alarm, needs to be unobtrusive as possible,

I need to replace a couple of PIRs and am looking at some which have eol resistors built in. They will be in a circuit wired in series - just the 2 - and there is already an eol resistor wired into the circuit at the panel. Can these PIRs be switched so that they show zero resistance as I am not sure what adding extra resistance into the circuit would be handled by the very old panel.

I had some difficulty with the, Honeywell Reson8 Bell Box during install at the weekend, i could not get SCB functionality to work, i initially thought the wiring may be damaged so i took the box to the control panel with a short cable and tried again, to no avail, the circuit on the sounder does not seem to react when the spring is depressed, and the case is shut. and the Green Indicator does not come on at any point. I have managed to use the sounder as sounder and strobe only, but wondering if there is anything else i can do to resolve, as the customer would like the lights on the sounder to flash and show the box is live.

Secondly, I would be installing a gsm unit in the control panel as there is no landline in the house, which unit is best for the PowerMax complete system ?

Do you supply a vandal resistant keypad that has either a USB or RS232 interface. USB is preferred. I think that the Storm 1000 keypad does have an RS232 output. Can you confirm this,and could you get stock of this item if you do not already ? Thanks in advance.

I currently have a Texecom R8 house alarm. I need to replace the main circuit board, so I thought I would upgrade to the Excel, use the Existing R8 as a remote keypad in an alternative location and install an new PIR sensor while I was at it. The question is. Is the existing R8 keypad compatible with the Excel board? (as an additional remote keypad) and will the existing PIR sensors operate correctly? Do you use any further problems?
