Sorry all you good people out there, to ask these questions , but I do not know whether it is I who is Dim or could the Electronics actually be at fault ?. When I try to register the keyfobs under other devices and I go to arming station I am asked to activate the tamper , A Is this the correct section to be in . B As there is no tamper do I just press any button or what. Also with regard to the Tag I am supposed to offer this up to the top left of the panel . I am in the arming station section but nothing is reacting. Again am I in the correct section and is there any way of verifying the Tag is working. I have proved that the Fobs are working by …

  4. Started by Secware,

I purchased several items including a ADE Honeywell Accenta Mini Gen4 and a Honeywell ActiveGuard AG6 External Siren to update an old system in my house. I fitted the items and all seemed to work well. However I have just realised that when I remove the PCB cover, activating the tamper, the external bell and strobe do not operate. The sounders on both of the key pads are activated by the tamper. The external siren and strobe work as they should in all other situations (test, SOS, if the alarm is triggered etc.) I just cannot work out what is wrong, any help would be appreciated?

  7. Hello, I have purchased a CQR 3/8 Flush Contact 1 RD 4 Wire White, but it does not work on my door. Most probably, it's because the gap est too large and the metal door interfere with the contact detection. I am looking buying a new flush contact. Which one do you recommand? You have so many. The installation environnement is: metalic door, large gap (difficult to measure, probably at least 10mm), if possible a contact with direct wiring. Looking forward your answer

  16. Hi, first post Can anybody tell me the recommended way of wiring a Texecom Premier48 and PSU200XP combination to the mains supply? Would each panel require its own fused spur? I will not be undertaking this work myself, but would like to have some knowledge of what is required before approaching an electrician. Thanks in advance.

  17. Can you advise which security panel would be suitable to replace one which has failed? (only lasted 15 years, but sadly now defunct!) This unit has 6 zones (hard-wired) of which I use 4. Anything that offers similar, at least 4 hard-wired + radio to cover areas not currently covered would do. Can you suggest something? I can install it.

  21. Hi guys, just a quickie. Can you tell if the the Visonic Powermax+ Quickfit Kit (inc Wireless sounder)kit has the dialler built in? Can you set and unset via your telephone after an activation and can it send you a text message to let you know when the alarm is set/unset? I can't find any spec online fort his product. If you could email me a link that would be just as good. Have a good evening. Dan.

  23. I think before - the best way to protect a window was to have a foil running around the glass.. Now I see a lot of electronic gadgets. However I am not sure how reliable they are. Say vibration sensor. I guess it is easy to cut glass above/below such a sensor with diamond cutter and simply disconnect it with a knife or undo latches and open window slowly or get through not disturbing the sensor using the hole... I mean - if the intruder is an idiot and will smash the window with a brick it works but otherwise - unlikely... am I right? is there other means to protect glass area? If the window is obscure and design and beauty considerations arent important - is …
