  6. Hi, I've just installed a Scantronic Homelink55 and the hardwired side of this has worked perfectly straight away. However the wireless side has proved more problematic ? I am tring to 'link' the RFX16 unit with 2 x 703r transmitters, I can get the reciever into learn mode, either -- flashing for the sysetm to allocate the channel or, for instance with 09 flashing (I have configured it to addres from zone 09 onwards). I have the 703r set to have the Ln set to E -enabled; however, with 12v connected the green nlight is on but unless I change the oP there is no activity from the RED LED!! I've tried marrying the both 703rs and have tried both connected to the panel bus …

  9. I was thinking about additional shock or contact protection for UPVC french doors in the kitchen at the back of the house. I'll have a PIR covering the kitchen area already, it's only a small one, but was thinking about something like the Viper GLX contacted sensor. I know that obviously shock sensors work better/best on a wooden framed doors/windows and obviously UPVC frames are affected by heat expansion etc. What are you thoughts on it, would you recommend it? Or just stick with contacts instead. Thanks in advance.

  17. Started by Secware,

My question is this. Are all the biscuits in an 11-20 blue-pack (as above) the same, apart from the numbered stickers, or is the internal wiring different? I ask because I've just broken a No 20 while attempting to replace a doorbell plate. Can I use another biscuit from the same pack as a replacement, or will this upset my alarm system? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm no expert. I've asked for high-priority because my house alarm is disabled by the problem.

tried to install this panel but it keeps blowing the 1.6a battery fuse (i tried 3 times but it blew each time) .I bench tested the panel using mains only and was able to successfully set up and test as per the installation instruction. The Bell, strobe PIRs and LEDs worked fine but each time i connected the battery it blew the fuse. I have checked the wiring instructions and cannot see any obvious reason for the problem.Your assistance will be greatly appreciated

  22. Hi I need to check a couple of things... 1. If I order the "Castle Care-Tech Euro One (includes LCD keypad)" from your site - part number EUR-1024... it says you get the panel and the remote keypad - is the keypad fitted with the Prox sensor for proximity fobs? 2. If it is how many fobs come with the panel? 3. We have never fitted this panel and have tried to get the engineer/installation manual from the Castle Care Tech website and it is password protected... we have registered with them but heard nothing yet - does the panel ship with installation/setup details? 4. do you have to use the Castle Care-Tech proximity fobs, or can you programme the cheaper ADE Ho…

I am looking at purchasing a home alarm system for my house. My friends here in Sweden recommend the Visonic line. 25. The latest Dimension Installation Manual (just sent to me by Honeywell) does not mention this portal, but in relation to the RF Rio advises the installer to refer to the instructions that come with the modules. There are no instructions provided with the Portal on registering the devices. The Keypad asks for the serial numbers of the devices, but none of the devices actually identifies any of its numbers as serial numbers. The unique numbers on the D0800M wireless door magnets are too long to be accepted by the keypad. The only numeric-only unique numbers on the DTP18M devices (on a sticky label on the side of the batteries) appear to be accepted but their signals are…
