securitywarehouse Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Hi, just been delivered secware optima2 pet kit to replace old optima system. Wired unit fine, now trying to wire siren. Old siren has connections, linked to wire colours in () Strobe + (White (strobe)) Strobe - (lt Green (strobe)) T (Blue (scb)) E (Yellow (scb)) A is linked back to E via metal loop D (Red (bell)) R (blk (bell)) New siren has: ST- R- SW- V+ V- The given instructions are for the Optima XL4 and don't seem to make any sense. I seem to have 6 wires, and only 5 terminals. Can you help?? Looking again and researching on the net forums, I'm now thinking: AG6 Optima ST- to Strobe- (Lt Green) R- to T SCB (Blue) SW- to B Bell- (Black) V+ to D Bell+ (red) V- to A SCB (yellow) I now have the white wire unattached? Previously used as Strobe + connection on old sounder. What do you think? Quote
accounts3 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I think this question has come up before on the forum, and the correct wiring has been given. So if no one technical comes back with an answer as quick as you may need one, search this forum, I believe the answer is there somewhere Anne Quote
Secware_Tech6 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 AG6 OptimaST- to Strobe- (Lt Green) R- to T SCB (Blue) SW- to B Bell- (Black) V+ to D Bell+ (red) V- to A SCB (yellow) You are correct Old sounders used to have their own +ve connection for the strobe. They now take the +ve form the HO+ (D in this case) James Quote
securitywarehouse Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 I've just read the response, thankyou. However, can I check that the white wire is now simply left unattached? Quote
Secware_Tech6 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 yes it is not connected. at either end. James Quote
