Secware
I have a Scantronic 9651 bought from you a few years ago. It's worked fine till the PA alarmed the other morning for no reason - i.e. it wasn't pressed. I put a new battery in it Feb 2014, probably the last time I opened it up. When I put the engineer's code in, in order to open up the PA to check it, rather than going into engineer mode it said "User code reqd". Odd?! Anyway, I then put the User Code in and it said "Set". This is not normal behaviour - any ideas? Thanks,
Secware_Tech6
I'd link out your pa, sounds like an issue with that. Plus the en version of the 9651 does need user authority for engineer access
phlize
The EN version of the 9651 has a User Command 3, which enables the user to toggle between requiring user code before installer code or not. It turns out that this had been enabled inadvertently - having put the user code in the other day to activate the alarm rather than pressing the tick someone (who shall be nameless but she lives here!!) pressed the '3' next to it by mistake. Hence I couldn't get into the Engineer mode! Problem solved - now I can look at the PA - the original problem. Thanks for your help.
