bigfrew
hey, I currently have an ademco accord security system installed in my flat and the transformer has stopped working. I have recently just purchased a scantronic 9448+ and i was wondering if i could take the new transformer from the scantronic and put it in the ademco system so i dont have to rewire the system? thanks in advance
ravis94
NOOO dont do it !!! they are probably different ratings! you may damage your xpc for good if you try it! you may see the difference in quality of the xpc and scantronic. the 9448 is much lower end stuff. Id have bought an accenta G4 with lcd rkp. Can you tell me what it says on the label on the transformer please? there should be a white or yellow label saying its type. bigfrew
There is no ID on the transformer from the Ademco and the manual for the scantronic says it runs at 12v. yeah it does seem pretty cheap looking but i'm not bothered
Secware
Hi, I have checked this out for you, and as long as it runs on the same voltage, which the 9448 and the Accord do 12Volts, you should be ok, hope it works out ok for you Regards Elaine
Secware_Tech6
Id be cautious here I think elaine has mixed up the question. Your talking about the AC side of the panel not the dc side. Generally the AC side of a panel is from 15-21v The only thing we could recommend is an official honeywell transformer, however if you do connect it, just check your regulator doesnt overheat. The reg will dissipate any excess voltage as heat. Tech SUpport
