[Ticket Question] Is The Dt7450 Suitable For A Conservatory?

Featured Replies

have purchased the Honeywell model from you DT7450 and

have just come to start fitting it.

However looking at the instructions it states don't fit facing direct

sunlight or facing windows yet its a "dual tech" that you recommended for a

conservatory.

I now that me previous conservatory had a similar model but as it was

approaching ten years old and the size of a house brick, I thought I would

replace it.

Is this Honeywell model suitable?

Yes.

The reason that is in the instructions is that sunlight will affect the pir element in the detector. In theory this shouldnt be a problem as the microwave element wont trigger die to sunlight. However it is recommended not to install any detector looking at windows etc.

Place the sensor in the best position to minimise direct sunlight into the sensor. Also consider the microwave will penetrate the glass / roof etc. Dont fit it right up against the cieling/roof as animals on the roof may be detected by the microwave element.

Also ensure the range is adjusted correctly.

I have started to fit the dual tech PIR as the conservatory is now finished.

I have power to it but to which connections do the "alarm wire " go to.

The contacts in the PIR are as follows.

T1 T2 (Tamper) C EOL NC (Alarm) V- V+ (Power)

I had connected them to C and NC but I can't get it to trigger. It does

trigger if I disconnect on of them.

I do realise that I should get a professional to fit it but the forum is

worth a try first.
