Please see attached images of our set-up. You can see in the white circle that the PIR fitting is located above the main door on the ground floor. Currently, it only activates when someone reaches the 4th step (both going up and down the stairs). We need the PIR sensor to: Activate the lights when someone walks through the main door on the ground floor. Also activate when someone is coming down the stairs from the 1st floor. The distance from the ground floor to the 1st floor is approximately 9 metres, but with an incline. I’m looking for a PIR sensor that can detect movement both from the bottom and the top of a staircase. Our current sensor is positioned on the wall above the door at the bottom of the staircase, but it only detects movement when someone is about four steps from the bottom. This is creating a safety risk, as the lights aren’t activating until a person walking down is already quite close to the bottom. The staircase is approximately 9 metres long.
