  1. Do a bell test or set off the PA ( 1 + 3 at the RKP ) this should trigger the siren , if it sounds then you have a programing issue. If it doesnt sound try linking a wire between 0v and the bell trigger B , this should trigger the siren , if it doesnt you have a wiring fault.
  2. Most of the kits are basic , so you will require ( if there is not one already installed ) a fused spur connection , this connects the mains to your alarm panel , the PSU is inside this panel.Make sure you have a battery if not included in the kit.
  3. Its this one ...Enersys 12v 2.3 A/h Battery
  4. Enersys 12v 2.3 A/h Battery SECWARE D20 Surface Contact (also available in brown )
  5. IIRC a few alarm panels ( Itec , Scopetronic Homeguard etc) had a zone type called Inertia or similar and had pulse count and gross attack settings. This allowed non-powered shock sensors to be used (basically just a device with a cup and ball or similar). Some had a separate analyser card fitted within the panel.Either way I think you may struggle to find a panel compatible with your particular shocks ( they may also have degraded , especially on windows with condensation).
  6. A DT is usually prefered in a conservatory , carefull set-up is required. Also look at the Optex FX50QZ
  7. The Enersys12v2.3 is the size you require.
  8. 8SP400A is the LED version , ie it has 8 little lights to represent each zone , whereas the 8SP399A is the LCD version , it has English text eg "do you want to set the system?" , personal preference really ( I prefere the lcd ).The IS215 is compatible with both.
  9. You press 7 to change the bell time , 6 is the zone names , but these are not available on the LED keypad.
  10. Reasonable cost?..have a look at the MDT Avanti http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_41&products_id=995 LCD keypad with prox
  11. Can you use the quotes to determine how many zones are needed. and the location of detectors?.Basically you would wire all detectors back to the place where the panel will be ( understairs , garage , upstairs cupboard). The specialist knowledge is required in the system design , detector choice and locations and programming the system to your requirements, a good company would have dedicated installation engineers who could do this for you in a day , where it may take you that long to decifer the manuals. There are many domestic panels with 8 zones , but it sounds like you may require more zones , so it would work out more expensive.
  12. Yes , the cable connects to the screw terminals.
  13. No , it has neither a siren nor a speaker , but has outputs for both /either.
  14. Most panels come with an internal speaker output , using this with a extension speaker gives exit / entry tones as well as full alarm sounds. If you want a siren , then the SECWARE 4 way 'Sound Bomb' Internal Sounder will certainly get their attention.Always check your panel has enough capacity ( total mA ).
  15. If you are using the standard wiring option ( CCL or Closed Circuit Loop ) , then use SECWARE A40 5 Terminal Flush Contact , also available in brown.
  16. Hi , the 9941 you mention is actually a keypad that can be used on a number of different Scantronic panels. You also list 12 zones approx. so this rules out the 9651 (most domestic panels have 8 zones as standard ).You should also look at the Texecom Premier range and the Galaxy 2-20.These panels are not really intended as DIY install .A good quad detector (in my opinion) is sufficient in a domestic property.Your list looks like a rough quote..try another company.
  17. AFAIK the R8 rkps are interchangable ( they were when I last did one anyway) , are you saying the system works , but the leds remain lit , if so , rkp looks faulty. If the system wont set because 1 & 3 are lit , then you have a fault ( may need completely powering down then up again ).Have you changed the battery recently?.
  18. The "man climbing through window" sticker is a popular wholesalers stock item , so could be added onto any make of external sounder. If you get the Texecom Odyssey bellbox , it comes with comprehensive instructions on how to fit.If you get stuck , post back.
  19. Just join the site , and REM or myself can then help you .
  20. It would be far easier to default the panel and reprogram to suit. All the info is in the Installer Guide. There are sites that will provide the manual and help you with any technical issues , ukpanels.com is one such site. Apologies to mods if this info is inappropriate.
  21. Its poor practice to put 2 pirs on one zone , but if you must , put the alarm contacts in series.Wire both detectors back to the panel , then take a wire from each pir relay , join together , this will leave you with 2 wires , connect these into the zone terms.
  22. If you are able , just replace the whole panel , the newer panels (2000 onwards) have a few extra features , also if your buttons are dieing , other things could be due to fail.Replace the battery at the same time.
  23. Hi , mine come without a speaker , but this is logical really as it allows the main unit to be hidden away (a beeping speaker would give its location away ) .Best to add your own choice of speaker at a location of your choice where it can be heard throughout the house. Have a look at ..SECWARE 16 Ohm Internal Speaker , this would do.
  24. You need to set the exit mode i.e. timed , final door , silent . Have a look on page 40. Regards.
