[Ticket Question] Help choosing alarm equipment please
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Have a look at the Texecom Premier range , 24 or 48, the installation manuals are very concise. The Accenta is only good for 8 zones. -
[Ticket Question] Help with a Eurosec CP8L LCD
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
You will need the installing engineers code , this is used to program all the different settings of the system. If you do not have it , then the system will have to be defaulted back to factory settings , BUT there is a chance the code could have been locked, meaning you can do no programming. -

[Ticket Question] Help replacing a Karisma plus alarm system
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi , have you had the system serviced recently? , if it is still working then there may be a reason why it is giving trouble , and that could be interference from a faulty appliance , and changing the panel may not cure this. I would at least replace the battery. -
[Ticket Question] Help with the Accenta G4 & latching option
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
The ADE panels have always had a SET terminal , which goes positive when the panel is set , although I dont have one in front of me , I'd be very surprised if the circuit board differs from the manual. Most likely is that the meter leads were the wrong way round . -
[Ticket Question] Help with upgrade please
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Yes , all of your chosen components are compatible , I prefere the Texecom bells myself , but Ag6/8 are fine. Most single piezos are loud enough. -
You could have a look at GJD light controllers , basically a pir to cover the drive , will turn on lights if required and give an audible indication of detection inside the house. http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=63_64

[Ticket Question] Help with a Veritas R8 please
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi , yes the new panel will come unlocked with default codes and will come with comprehensive user and engineer guides. You cannot tell if your current panel is locked unless you try to default it.It will revert back to factory settings apart from the engineers code , so you will be able to use it , but not program it.The code is locked in engineer mode by selecting an option.Again , it may or may not be locked. -
Veritas R8 keypad locked out after power failure
FastCar replied to Garysau's topic in Intruder Alarms
I would remove all power , battery and mains , wait for 10 secs ,power up mains first , enter code to silence, then connect battery , close panel and press RESET. -
[Ticket Question] Help with a Veritas R8 please
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Yes , its a straight swop of the main circuit board within the larger end panel. This will give you a factory fresh system with new user and engineer codes. If the engineer code has not been "locked in" then the panel can be defaulted back to factory settings , its all in the engineers manual.I'd recommend a new battery also.Regarding the bell , yes it will sound when the old panel is removed , but there are ways to deal with this , post back when you are ready. -
I would recommend a Texecom kit , the manuals are very clear http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_62&products_id=550 add a couple of extra door contacts , maybe a few lengths of trunking if required.

[Ticket Question] Help with the Accenta Gen4
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi , the lid does hinge , at the top and bottom , you undo the screws , lift the top lid approx 90 degrees then pull forward to remove , same for bottom.I'm not sure 20m will surfice..could only suggest trying it, but I dont know of a smaller end station. -
[ticket Question] Help with a honeywell accenta ade 4
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
With most , if not all panels , even defaulting a panel will not wipe the log.It will however write over itself as more events are logged. -
[Ticket Question] Help with the Texecom R8/Excel
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Yes , the Excel will work with the older led veritas keypads. All your existing wiring and detectors will also be compatible. If your battery hasn't been checked recently it may be worth checking / replacing. -
[Ticket Question] Help wiring the Ody 4 please
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
D (perm neg supply) SCB - C (tamp return) SCB rt A (perm pos supply) Bell + B (sw neg in alarm) Bell - S (sw-ve strobe) STB- If you have a DVM just check the functions of each terminal. If you are unsure , connect the bell using a small length of wire to the panel temporarily, its a lot easier to ensure correct operation than up a ladder. -
[Ticket Question] Scantronic 9752 help please
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
As it is a gun club , I would at least consult your insurance company to ask what level of system you require.I would also get a quote from a local registered installation company , it may not be as expensive as you think , they will do a risk assessment and advise accordingly. But to answer you original query , yes the 9752 is a worthy replacement. -
There should be 6 wires , power , alarm , and tamper pairs , unless its eol. Before ordering new , check the voltage at the pir , should be no less than 12vDC.Alternative pirs would be a Colt XS or a Magnum.

[Ticket Question] Help with an Ody 1E
FastCar replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
I have never heard of that panel , but the bell / sab connections are usually grouped together and consist of a permanent 12v - 0v supply to charge the bell battery and a switched neg to trigger the siren / strobe , and a tamper of some sorts. -
Both of those batteries will fit the Optima Compact , from experience , I would fit the Yuasa , only because I have taken out 10 year old examples that have plenty of life left in them...
