  1. I am building a new house and a granny flat

The alarm will consist of wired system and external bell box aswell internal bell box.

Alarm pack with keypad and fob for the house.
    - 2 keypad and fob (one for upstairs and downstairs)
    - 4 pir sensors (pet friendly)
    - two door sensors (front door and back door)
    - one 7m rear sliding door (door sensor?)

However I have a detached garage which have a granny flat above which I aim to rent out.

The garage which will be linked with house alarm system.
    1 x pir sensor
    1 x door sensor
    1 x roller door sensor

But I would like the granny flat to have its own zone linked with house alarm. (If that is possible) when my tenant is in flat they can only use their keypad to actives their alarm system using my alarm system. However I can turn it off from the house keypad. If you know my meaning?

    1 x pir sensor
    1 x door sensor
    1 x keypad and fob

Is this possible to have smart (i do not wish to have wireless)

  2. hi, I am looking at the "Takex 20m Ext/40m Int 4 Channel Twin beams inc Pole Clamps" for use on scaffolding and was looking for some advice on suitable keypads and sounders to go along with it looking to buy a whole alarm set pretty ASAP to try with the intention of buying more and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Hi i am after replacing an old alarm in my house, it currently has 5 pir's that are all wired,

Door switches have been taken off when new doors fitted

Think i need a hybrid system but would also like GSM control and internet if possible to access events

it also needs to be able to connect to a Elmdene rapier 6000 sounder

would like to add 4 wireless door contacts too preferably 2 way radio type.

and 1 dual tec pir for the garage. seperate keypad with proximity fob or remote fob would be handy.

last thing self fitting so nothing that is gonna take a degree to fit. what do you suggest and have you got

    it in stock.

  4. I have a 15 year old Eurosec system that I whish to refurbish/upgrade.

    A few questions:

I have what looks like the CP8L remote pad - is there an better option to replace? Tag compatible?

Would you advise replacing the main panel at 15yrs old?

I wish to add another remote keypad (garage entrance) and a contact/PIR - best option (remote tag?)

    Can you recommend replacement PIRs?

Is there such a thing as wireless door contact?

  5.

I am torn between the Pyronix 46 App, the HKC 1070 and the Texecom Premier systems.

I want a hybrid system where I can have mostly wired sensors and outputs but with the potential for a bit of wireless.

I'm comfortable with programming reasonably complex panels having done Texecom and Honeywell systems for my families houses.

I've read a lot of great things about HKC on a Internet forum but I see you cannot connect the app to the panel without authorisation.

    Is this true?

    Can you provide this service?

  6. I have an 11 year old scantronic 9930 fitted professionally and serviced.

I am about to purchase a replacement keypad.

However with regular power cuts here my alarm now triggers outside bell very quickly and will not go off for 15 minutes, i cannot reset.

Also the display shows better missing even though it's not and i have checked all connections which are fine, also the battery is reading 12volts on tester.

The only thing i noticed was split at bottom but, NO leaks ?? so why is it showing message and a 12volt reading on tester.

Can you advice please as i don't want to waste money on keypad and battery if it is something else.

  7. If you only wantsto send notifications to a mobile phone, there is no need - yet - for an ethernet module.

The current version of the smartphone app does not receive push notifications.

The SMS signaling can be done through the GSM / GPRS module, to up to 3 different numbers.

All the modules can be fitted in the enclosure, just make sure it is a Medium size.

  8. Trying to find a good quality PIR sensor for lighting control. Just to turn on about 200W of lighting for, say, 15 minutes when persons detected during darkness. One sensor, one output. Min range 30m. (It's for use in a churchyard.) Ideally a stand-alone unit, but could be a PIR head plus power supply / relay unit. I don't need manual overrride, timers, etc.

If I used one of these, what additional kit would be needed?

    Similarly, for this one:

    Thanks.

  9. I need help to configure a hardwired alarm system.
    I'm interested in:

1 pcs Honeywell Galaxy Flex with GSM/GPRS
7 pcs Pet immune PIR detectors
2 pcs Microtech Galaxy MK8 Keyprox LCD Keypad
    1 pcs Indoor siren
    1 pcs outdoor siren

I'm not sure which model of Honeywell galaxy flex I need (20 or 50?)

    1. Can you please help an come up with a suggestion of which would be the right choice for me, with the above mentioned spec.
    2. If I would like to add the possibility to also add wireless door sensors, what would I need to choose?
    3. If I would like to add the possibility to access the alarm system with an app. What would I need to choose?

  10. Hi there

    I have an MCR-304 + 3 x MCT-303's in my basket.

2/. From your experience in the field what is the effective range. In my application I have a fair amount of brickwork through which the RF must travel - probably about 15M to the furthest 303 and about 3 x 9" conventional brick walls.

3/. Are the 303's 'supervised transmitters'.

    Thanks.

  11. I ordered the above Visonic MCR-304 Receiver from you and it was quickly delivered without any sign of transit damage. Firstly my thanks for your prompt service.

I installed the item in the prescribed way and powered it up. I then set the Learn jumper into the Learn mode and the yellow LED flashed as expected. I then pressed the Tamper spring and the yellow LED and the red LED both flashed OK and using the tamper key I was able to cycle through the various channels. I then tried to associate/enroll a known good transmitter and in this respect I used a MCT-100. This transmitter was free standing and located close to the MCR-304 so range was not an issue. I tried to force the association by causing the transmitter to transmit but the LED simply continued to flash and did not reach a steady state. I then repeated the process on different channels but could still not get the transmitter to be recognized.

From my checks above it suggested to me that there could be a problem with the RF side of the MCR-304. I therefore used another older MCR-304 to try and verify that the transmitter was working correctly. I set this into Learn mode and repeated the process outlined in the above paragraph and this time it set up correctly and when set to operational use this MCR-304 received the transmitter signal and toggled the relay as would be expected

I have powered down the problem MCR-304 and left it for a while before reintroducing power. Unfortunately this did not clear the problem.

Having performed the above functions it suggests to me that there may be a problem with the RF section of the MCR-304. I do not know of any further tests or corrective action that I could take. I could inspect the PCB for any obvious dry joints etc but would not do this unless instructed by yourselves. If you have any suggestions I would be pleased to hear them and if I can clear the problem myself I will. Failing this I will need to return it to you for the appropriate corrective action. I have mounted the unit on a wall close to the Control Panel and have therefore used the knock outs provided. If replacement is required I am happy to have the PCB replaced/repaired and retain the case with the knock outs.

Please let me know what action you wish me to take.

    Regards
