you'l get them in the end... I hope! I know this doesnt fit in to the above thread but is it true texecom have CUT off their Quality Control line?! If they have then what if their items dont work???
-
see the R8+ I had before it went faulty had eol and the pc upload/download...? You are the cheapest too lol I wasnt being sarcastic!!! I couldnt seeany difference atall, they both even look identical.
-
What is the difference between the Texecom Veritas R8+ and the Veritas Excel??? According to the comparison chart there doesnt seem to be a difference in hardware? Is there a difference in software? If so what are these differences? Once again securitywarehouse* are the CHEAPEST by 68p with their competitors triton direct! Id use securitywarehouse though as you have good service!
-
nice!! Glad its working for you! You didnt pay the other man did you?! I dont even know how the other guy wired it wrong... once you read the manual it i so simple to do. Particularly this panel!!! Oh well, someone else will probably have your problem when he next attempts to install one!!!!
-
oh yeah mine locks out too, but the person hasnt clarified if the unit makes any noise when a key is pressed... maybe its the PA? Check if the pa link is screwed in properly. If it was in the tamper fault though it would make that "BEEP" to say that you cannot do anything when you press a button. Orit could just be something simple like the speaker disconnecting or the wire coming off the speaker or it could have come out of the panel terminals...
-
IF you have no sound coming from the unit at ALL check the fuses. There should be a 13v speaker fuse and a bell/strobe fuse. Not sure on the optima but is it the built in 32ohm speaker that makes the keypress noise or is there a piezo? If you have no noise coming from the unit there is a fuse blown or wrong wiring.
-
i think that it has been configured wrong. Please list all the devices you have connected and how you would like them set up. I.e if you have smoke detectors on zones 7 or 8... Does the internal sounder make any noise at all?
-
Hello again Its soooooo simple seriously, I can do it for you on here if you want too. I have the manuals too Can you try this for me: Press [Prog] Type in your access code (usercode not engineer) (the DAY LED goes off and tamper LED switches on to indicate you are in a menu press 0 and walk past and activate EACH AND EVERY sensor wired to your system, once a device is tripped you will hear a "neno", that is to prove he has wired your system up properly Let me know the results

Hello Im not understanding the pricing idea/logic behind the follwing products: ADE accenta lcd keypad
-
are you sure he even knew how to programme the zones to be "SWITCHED ON"?!!! Ive heard this before, he has to programme the zones and system flags, if he knew anything about this system he would know what I mean... This is one of the most simplest systems in the world to set up and they are extremely rarely faulty.
-
okay lol i'll be patient!! Im getting a little bored of my scanny 9448 now so I think I need something a little more advanced and an internal sounder that isnt so pathetic as the 9448!!! I think the 9651 is for me! may be in a few weeks that I order one as some gent s-quads with speech strobes are in queue for my vigilon compact! wow I babble on! have you got any datasheets on the 9651 that I could read up? i think you have access to my email address because you're a moderator. Thanks Elaine.
-
NOOO dont do it !!! they are probably different ratings! you may damage your xpc for good if you try it! you may see the difference in quality of the xpc and scantronic. the 9448 is much lower end stuff. Id have bought an accenta G4 with lcd rkp. Can you tell me what it says on the label on the transformer please? there should be a white or yellow label saying its type.
-
yes the scantronic 9448+EUR95 is the one you want. Its available on securitywarehouse. If you want one with a seperate remote keypad then the EUR95 is the one but if you want one with a built in keypad then get the EUR90

while the system is unset does the number '3' key work once you press it? Check the wiring to the keypad and see if it is intact. I am going to find some information for you. The nights when the alarm starts going off, has the system been set? Can you also try this please: does the keypad cover feel stiff when you ty and push it up as it could be putting pressure on the plastic housing, pressing the 3 key. Ifyour system has been set up to enter 16 wrong keypresses the alarm will sound as a full alarm. Can you open and shut the cover a few times and press down on it a bit to see if it is pressing any buttons...? Your pcb in the back may be loose you see that may be the reason no keypress is being registered. As far as I remember, the veritas keypads have no commands relating to button 3 like PA, SET, or CHIME etc...
-
when you say your keypad does not register any keypresses are any of the lights lit on the keypad? I recommend you isolate any power to the unit and take the keypad off of its mounting plate and check the wires are all seperate. Then I suggest you track where the cable from the keypad to control panel goes, is it under the carpets, near the stairs etc as you could have worn the wire away when you walk on it and if you just happen to step on it the power could be removed or start touching. Anyway open up the end station with the 2 screws on the front lid and see if any cables are touching when they arent supposed to. The keypad connections are T R 12V 0V, NONE of these wires should be touching eachother. Also check to see if any other wires are touching (obv not the aux as all your zones will link to this to power the detectors). Can you also describe the sound from the sounder please? I it a "nee naw" or a fast siren or a continuous sound? Can you also check if your outside bell rings? so: 1) Check wires in keypad 2) Check wires in end station 3) What sound is the bell making 4) Is the outside bell ringing??
-
Can I just ask why you would like to go wireless? If you already have a veritas R8 just buy another and you swap the cables over like for like! simple. With wireless systems they can be difficult to get your head around and you have to think about batteires. I'd personally just buy the same panel and swap the cables over. If you already have cables run then there is no point in not using them in my opinion. Its cheaper too as you dont have to buy all the special devices etc...! Totally up to you!
-
is it possible for you to do a video review on a Honeywell AG6 bellbox please? I need one for my school project but i need to see how good it is! I need something really cheap!!!
-
THAT IS THE FIRE ALARM!!!!!!!! That one has been "programmed" strangely a a fire one, if that zone wanted to be used as a fire alarm it should have a smoke/heat detector on it but because you have aPIR on it, the panel keeps thinking that a detector is triggering the fire when it is the PIR!! I will try find out the commands to programme it back to guard. Dont worry, we'll get it sorted for you!! Can I just as? have you entered programming mode by accident? have you got an engineers code??
-
can you describe the noise please? I know that you can programme each and every zone as: 24 hour alarm (possible yours is set to this Z2) fire (possible yours is set to this) Inhibited entry guard (this should be the setting yours is on) others... is the alarm sounder like any of the following as the different noises all mean different things: 1) Hi-Lo "Nee Naw" sound (fire alarm) 2) Standard siren sound (weau weau weau) 3) Continuous 4) other If you can clarify what noise your panel was making we can tell you how to do it in seconds.
-
is there any way you can describe the sound it is making or better get a recording? It should just be the standard siren sound and nothing else unless its fire. Make sure that your zone 2 terminal wires arent touching any other zone wiring by accident. lol I would actually laugh if it was wired into tamper LOL! Screw the cover back onto the end station box and then see if the tamper condition clears, if not then you have the problem of a tamper relating to z2. Is there a tamper condition coming from the zone 2?
-
Has it just recently started doing this? You havent got into engineer mode and accidentally adjusted any settings? Can you tell us whether a tamper light is illuminated on the keypad? There may be 2 things: 1) Z2 may be on 24 hour intruder 2) There is a tamper condition at the panel. Also is the panel generating a full alarm condition with your outside bells and inside sounder ringing? If not then let us know. It may just be chime, that can be switched on very easily and accidentally
-
Are you planning on linking this to an intruder alarm?! or an external light?
-
I agree with tech6 that the 9651 is the system to go for, simple to set up and program. Why would you want to disable sounders? The idea of an intruder alarm is to scare off anyone who enters that shouldnt be there. I think you can set a bell delay up so if the alarm activates for 1 minute or longer the alarm sounds fully but if you get to the keypad and reset within a minute the system will fully reset. I think that is a better option and you can have a soundbomb in this house! But if you used the intetrnal sounder line with a SECWARE speaker I can tell you it is probably as loud as the soundbomb no lie!!!! EVERYONE knows when our alarm activates!! Send me a PM if you would like the user manual to see how the basic setting/unsetting is...

Hello, Can I just ask a question? Does your control panel have a seperate remote keypad and one of them plain boxe (end station) or is it all built into the end station? If you want one with a seperate keypad go for the 9448-EUR95 but if you want the all in one unit system get the EUR90 version. An economy cheaper option bellbox is the Honeywell AG6 bellbox as it is easy to fit, set up and works well too. Im going to buy one for my house! One more higher end one is the texecom oddyssey 1E and the price matches the product! *just remember with the texecom one, you have to buy the right cover for it too!!! The ventcroft ones are supposed to pack a loud noise and they look quite good too, its entirely up to you! Imo I reccommend any of the above. The system is very easy to set up so you'll be fine. Let us know how you get on and if you need any help just let us know
