Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. We moved into our house previously without pets but with one of the above alarm panels. I need to replace three PIR with pet friendly ones. You advertise the Scantronic 430, is this compatible with the 9450 panel. Also I wanted to install a dialler but it seems that you are out of stock of all diallers. If there is one that is compatible with my control panel could you please let me know. Also I would like a clue as to how to wire up the dialler to my panel. Please feel free to answer any one of the points. The main one being compatibility.

  2. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me decide on a simple & effective alarm system. What I need is listed below. 1) 1 door contact 2) Minimum 2 PIR's (wired or not) 3) Key fob to de/activate alarm 4) Some sort of notification on activation (email, text/call) 5) camera that can record images/video when there is motion and the ability to send the images to a phone AND be viewable over the internet Ideally, I'd like the system to be controllable remotely and have as little wiring as possible. I have made allowance for 2 cat5 cables to the 2 known Camera/PIR locations. (Depending on the cost, I might also include a door peephole camera - again, I'…

  7. Hi all, I have just purchased the MCM-140+ keypad for use with an standard Powermax Alarm. When the alarm is in Enroll Keyfob mode and I press the * for two seconds, the alarm does not recognise the keypad. I have just re-enrolled all other sensors and a keyfob without any problems. Any ideas? Many thanks, Paul

  11. I am looking to replace my current alarm system with a new modern system. One of my main requirements is to allow remote access to the system, and so I am looking at the Scantronic i-on 40. Although all of my sensors are wired the wireless capability will be handy if I have to upgrade in the future. I also require SMS messaging through GSM and PSTN so would be looking to also install these modules as well as one extra wireless keypad. My main concern at the moment is how the wired sensors and PIRs are connected to the i-on 40 system to ensure it will work with my current installation. Can you provide any information as to how the zones are wired on the system, or are …

  12. The unit we received is a EE1215W Universal transmitter. We need to look at getting a receiver for it. The switch we have generates a wireless signal that has to go back to something to then make the actual switch. All we have is the transmitter. I would need to install a receiver into our product in order to make it switch on and off

I am after a vibration sensor to fit to my roller shutter garage door to detect attempted forcing of the door. Do you have any products that detect vibration to the door itself rather than the frame: concerned that a frame mounted sensor may not be sensitive enough. Standard wired honeywell Optima alarm panel.

  17. Hi, I was looking at something like the Scantronic 9651 to replace my faulty C&K Securitech 700L control unit. However I was wondering if there is something I could get that would replace my control unit and use my existing hard-wired PIRs, door contacts etc., but adds 'smart' functions like alerts to smartphone when the alarm goes off, remote unsetting to let a neighbor in etc.? Thanks in advance for your help.

  21. I have fitted a wired intruder alarm system within my house and wonder if you could confirm I can install a wireless detector in an external building with a wireless receiver next to and connected to the wired system panel. If it is possible could you suggest the equipment I would need. There are spare zones on the wired panel and I would only need one zone on the wireless receiver.

  22. Hello I am having trouble finding a suitable hybrid wired/wireless alarm system. I have owned an alarm system in Australia, but I am having trouble finding a solution which re-creates the features that alarm had. The panel is for domestic purposes, and I would like it to have: * A wired door entry pin code pad * Be able to use a mixture of wired and wireless PIR/Glass break detectors/and shock detectors (Last one where possible) * The door contacts must be wireless, and as discrete as possible * Wired external bell box/strobe * The panel must be able to do part sets : eg, night mode > full perimeter armed, internal PIRs off, no delay on front door Home mode > Selecta…

  23. Good afternoon, I consider buying a Visonic Powermaster33 system. My premises are in Germany, and operating a UK system in Germany may cause some headache (or not). Is it possible to connect said system to non-UK alarm response services? I have been told that UK systems are locked to UK response services which would render the whole system useless for people in other countries. I already know that there are some restrictions concerning the interoperability of devices. Please shade light on the topic. Thanks in advance!
