  1. I was wondering if you could help me? I am looking at this gsm module as a means of contact me. I have no telephone landline at the premises I want to install this and I need something that will phone me like a mobile phone and not just send text messages as this would not work, due to hearing a text message at night. Also how many numbers can be stored/programmed into the module?

I'm looking to buy a Honeywell SS/01 SS/F Simple Set Reader for connection to a new Honeywell Accenta Mini G4 or Optima Compact G4. Is the relay return required from the simple set reader to the panel OR will it operate just using the normal 4 wire Positive, Negative, Sound and Comms?

  3. Can you help with my optima compact 8ep 396a? When setting the alarm i cannot set a program ie part set( prog 2 ) it defaults to prog 1.

RKP is near door which terminals do I use on rkp and/or G4 panel, I already have extra sounder near main panel, close to back door also set to chime, wired to speaker terminals in main panel but this responds to alarm condition and mirrors rkp sounder when alarm activated but when front or back door is opened then I'm only getting usual beep-bo from rkp.Am I using the right connections in main panel?

  17. Started by Nishdu,

My new house was pre-wired for a hard wired alarm which I planned to fit myself. The guy who run the cabling did a good job except he did not wire for contacts on the doors. There is no chance to wire them now as I cannot run cables thrugh the dry wall panels. My solution I think is something like a Homelink 55 I will have 6 PIR, three door contacts, and two RKP's as I have a point upstairs for night setting the system. Can I add a second 9943 RKP to the Homelink 55 ? The Homelink 55 has 6 wired zones which would cover the PIR's. I hope I could use wireless contacts for the rest. Prox tags would also be a nice addition. Grateful for any advic…

  18. My installation went fine and system has been working fine for 2 months now. Yesterday we had a power cut and the alarm went off immediately. On investigation I found that the battery fuse was blown and that the charging circuit was generating no voltage at all. This means voltage from the supply side of the fuse holder is not present. The low voltage AC supply from the transformer is ok. If I put in a new fuse ( all I have at home is 1A ) and then connect up the battery the fuse blows immediately. The open circuit voltage on the battery is around 12.5 volts and I imagine that is the charge it had when I bought it. The battery is not a short circuit . If I ignore the …

  19. I have installed, approx 9 years ago, a scantronic 500r.+ system and have had the remote control stolen during a break in. My fear is they will return. Is it possible replace the control box with a new one in order to make the remote U/S, Or is it possible to disable the remote. I have 4 PIRs one door sensor and a remote key pad. Sorry I have marked this high but having just lost a new car do not wish then to re-visit disble the alarm and clear the rest of the house. Thank you for your time.

Homelink 75 panel – before you despatch it would it be possible for me to speak to someone for advice? My panel currently runs for about 3/4 hours and then dies. When I replace the rechargeable batteries it’s fine again and when reconnected to the psu it appears to be running from the mains supply – can these psu’s repeatedly fail over the course of a few hours under load?
