Hello, I have a scantronic 500r.+ system installed in 2002 which has been regularly serviced and works as installed. I now have a low battery light for one of the PIRs but the installer & servicer seems to have gone out of business as his phone contact is no longer recognised. Please could you say how to change the battery on the PIR as I do not know whether it has a tamper proof feature or not, hence, if I interfere with the PIR will it set off the alarm? Thanks for your help, Roger

  8. Hi I have been going on at my folks for years to get an alarm system. My father is competent with electrical wiring, but I am clueless with alarm systems and compatibility issues. 9. We have a scantronic 9448 alarm system and have recently had a new front door fitted. The original door was solid wood and had a door sensor fitted into the top of the door. Our new door is upvc and we require a flush fitting sensor which can be connected to the existing wiring. Please advise on which item we should select.

Can you tell me if I were to buy 2 or 3 different system PIR's would they all work in any alarm system. I have a system fitted that requires additional PIR units for more protection. I have had a home security police team look over my house. I would be grateful for any advice on this matter.

Hi all I'm new to this forum, so please excuse my lack of technical knowledge. A couple of days ago I was moving stuff around under my staircase where I have an Alarm panel covered inside its metal casing. I'm certain I did not touch it, suddenly the house alarm went off and the Keypad panel was showing Bell fuse fault. I went ahead and replaced the bell fuse and it but it kept blowing. I had the alarm engineer who installed it come round and he disconnected all wiring to the PCB and still fuse kept blowing. The engineer has currently rewired the bell box to another connection on the PCB allowing me to still set the alarm but I have to say 'yes' to the fault to get to the…

  12. Hi just a quick question does the above control panel come with the ability to call or text you if your alarm has been activated or do you have to buy extra parts? As screwfix are advertising it comes with Voice alerts up to 3 telephone numbers when alarm is activated.

  14. I'm intrested in a low cost wireless alarm system that I can connect into a PC. I would be looking at about 5 PIR sensors and 2 door sensors to start. In an ideal world multiple codes or RFID tags could be used to set unset.

  15. Hi. Does anybody know what the bell/strobe output is on this unit. I am changing a Scantronic 9200 control panel and don't want to have to buy a new bell unit. A link to a installation wiring diagram would be good! Thanks

I'm look for some shock sensors (to be fitted to window frames) preferably wired and that work with DSC PC range. I was looking at the Aritech GS612 but I've not had much joy with it albeit the door sensor with magnet works fine.

  20. I purchased a Veritas Excel panel with LCD keypad (order number 18090). On powering up the system for the first time, the keypad remains blank and does not display any text. The three LEDs on the side are lit and the keypad is illuminated and accepts key presses. Am I missing a configuration step somewhere or is the keypad/panel faulty?

  21. I Live in Belgium and I have a PowerMax Pro (868 Mhz) and I would like to purchase some of your modules. But I have some questions about it: 1) Are your products compatible with my PowerMax Pro (868Mhz)? 2) Does your prices including VAT? If not, have I to pay it (as I live outside UK) and how much? 3) The GSM-350 is it the new version? Because the new version of GSM-350 is compatible with the PowerMax Pro Panel. 4) Can you provide PowerLink2? If yes, for how much? 5) What about the XM10? Can you provide it with EU plug? Thank you in advance and Regards,

tried to install this panel but it keeps blowing the 1.6a battery fuse (i tried 3 times but it blew each time) .I bench tested the panel using mains only and was able to successfully set up and test as per the installation instruction. The Bell, strobe PIRs and LEDs worked fine but each time i connected the battery it blew the fuse. I have checked the wiring instructions and cannot see any obvious reason for the problem.Your assistance will be greatly appreciated
