I am building a new house and a granny flat The alarm will consist of wired system and external bell box aswell internal bell box. Alarm pack with keypad and fob for the house. - 2 keypad and fob (one for upstairs and downstairs) - 4 pir sensors (pet friendly) - two door sensors (front door and back door) - one 7m rear sliding door (door sensor?) However I have a detached garage which have a granny flat above which I aim to rent out. The garage which will be linked with house alarm system. 1 x pir sensor 1 x door sensor 1 x roller door sensor But I would like the granny flat to have its own zone linked with house alarm. I am currently installing an alarm/fire system in my home and have a few questions someone may kindly answer: 1. Does the Eurosec CPX have a built in dialer to call in the event of an alarm (so all I do is add a bt line) and if so does it tell you what the alarm is i.e zone, fire, intruder etc. 2. What type of cable should I use for the smoke heat detecors - normal alarm cable? 3. What smoke heat detecors are compatable with the Eurosec CPX? 4. We have a optima xL4 MICROPROCESSOR alarm system. This keeps going off at various times during the day. We enter the code and reset only for it to go off again. none of the sensors are lit up (they used to have a red light on them) Please can you help as we are been woken at ridculous times in the night and have 2 young children !

I have a Cooper SD2+ connected to a system and working fine using the O2 SMS centre. I have been asked to switch this to using the BT Text service so that use can be made of the bundled free texts with the BT phone line. Not an unreasonable request. The problem is that I have tried almost every setting to get this unit to work with BT Text and have even had a BT engineering helping but to no avail. (message centre number 1470 P 17094009) Has anyone else found this to be a problem or managed to solve it? If so could you post the settings and procedure. Thanks

Just purchased a host of intruder alarm equipment from you - it arrived yesterday. The control panel is the Texecom Premier 48. Does this panel have an intergrated sounder that will sound when the alarm is activated (entry/exit and on activation) or do I have to buy something additional?

Hi i have installed all the system , when i test the system for dialling a tel. no. it works , but when i make a test alarm activation , the speech dialler does not dial any numbers saved in it . please advise? Mahdi

I have bourght quite a few of these & on wiring & checking them find none sound when tested. All you get is a constant lit LED. Is there a possiblity that all are faulty or has someone designed the ultimate pointless product? If one went into alarm I'd expect all linked alarms to sound. Is this not the case with all linked 12v linked detectors?

Can I connect a telephone dialler to the Optima 8EP396A . The instruction manual says the communicator is not fitted to the Optima Compact.

Can anyone recomend an alarm system that will notify by text message for alarm triggers including set/unset (ie access to the premise) I currently mainly fit texecom products and have used voice diallers regularly but a client now wants that bit more! Any advice welcome Thanks

texecom odyssey bell box appears to be faulty, I have checked the voltages and the tamper circuit but the bell is active constantly. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Hey, My old ademco accord has stopped working due to the transformer being broken. I am now looking to install a new system myself using existing wiring etc, but I'm not sure what system would be most suited and easiest to install. I am thinking of either Texecom VERITAS R8 or the Scantronic 9448. Any advice, tips or help would be appreciated. Ta.

Hi I want to add a magnetic lock that released when the panel is unset. I see there are 2 outputs on the Premier 48 both that can take 1A but this seems alot. is it really ok to wire directly on to the pannel without needing a relay. Im thinking of running the SSP Mini Magnetic Lock unmonitored on the door conserned. if I do need a relay do you have a prepackaged one with power supply etc? Any help apprecated. Rob

I bought from yourselves about 2 years ago an Optima Compact Gen 4. following a burglary my insurance co are now insisting my alarm meets the above standards. Does this panel meet the above standard's, if not can you suggest one that does.

I think I have damaged the PCB. It shorted as I was removing a connection when still live. I've replaced the blown fuse but, on rewiring, it alarms as soon as the system is set. I'm confident the wiring is correct & unit programming OK (I did a factory reset). There is no fault with the PIRs. Any suggestions on how to remedy?

Is the 9448 manual the same or similar to the 9448+ manual as I need to gain access to the panel without it going into full alarm. Or can anyone tell me how this can be done. I have installed many Optimas over the years but never got involved with Scantronic.

Currently have A Veritas R8plus 10 years old that is now faulty. Would like to replace with a new one, is current model a direct replacement to old. Does new unit come with battery. Can it be replaced by DIY

Could you please recommend a PIR (or more than one type) for a existing Scantronic 9452 wired Intruder alarm system. As the Installation manual and User guides for the 9452 dont show model numbers. Thank you

I have a former ADT monitored alarm and I need to purchase a few more accessories for it. It is a Visonic Powermaster 30. Somebody told me that not all the Powermaster accessories work with the ADT alarms. Is this correct or will the PIRs and contacts you sell work with the system?

Hi, i purchased the simpleset reader with a G4 accent mini system in November 2009. I installed the system in January all worked great with 2 keypads and the simpleset at the front door exit point. This morning my wife set the alarm with the keyfob and returned 30 minutes later went to unset the alarm and it would not work.It just has a power on light and nothing else.All other aspects are fine and have tried a number of trouble shooting tests but its useless. Reading the forums, someone has had the same fault with a new item. Is the item under a 12 month warranty/replacement? We now cannot use the alarm which is a little worrying! Hi, I have been looking to buy accessories for Visonic Powermaster 10G system of which I already have a panel and some accessories bought in Sweden. On many accessories it says "will only work with UK panels". Is this actually the case that I would not be able to get these to work with a panel bought in Sweden (sounds strange that Visonic would manufacture special equipment for UK only?)?
