Secware2
I have a Securit 800L+ alarm panel. Fitted by the housebuilder. I need to remove the alarm panel for building work. It would appear the siren is a Self Contained Bell or a Self Activating Bell. When I disconnect the mains and the internal 12v lead acid battery the siren goes off. Would keeping the siren -Ve and +Ve at 9v to 12v keep the siren from sounding.? I have the installation manual for the alarm but I do not have any details of the siren box fitted. Secware_Tech6
yes that would work but eventaully the battery would go flat. Best thing is to disconnect the external bell inside the bell. For obvious reasons we dont give infomation out on how to disable a burglar alarm step by step ;-)
ukzmisr
Secware Tec6. Thanks for your reply. Cannot get to inside external bell box, do not have ladders. Hence the reason for applying 9-12v to the power for the SAB or SCB.

ukzmisr
Hi Secware_Tech6, Alarm system is a Intellisense SECURIT 800L+ It would appear that I have to have scald folding put up. Been advised to remove the bell box , to reduce the risk of it getting damaged. I do not want to blow my ear drums out. So would this procedure be correct. I assume I have a SAB or SCB. Apply 9-12v (I mention 9v since I was thinking of using a PP3 battery) to –Ve and +Ve to the bell connection in the alarm control panel ( door to alarm control panel will be open) Connect S- and -R to assuming these are held high (12V) connect to 9-12v. Connections in alarm panel are as follows, ST- Strobe switched negative trigger. S - Sounder switched negative trigger +Ve Sounder hold off/strobe positive supply. - Ve Sounder hold off supply & sounder tamper feed (negative) -R Sounder tamper return. (negative) To test to make sure when I remove the bell box, ( therefore activating the tamper) . The sounder does not go off. If I remove –R Sounder Tamper Return ( negative) the sounder should not go off. Assuming of course the tamper switch in the bell box is working OK. Of course I will be wearing ear defenders. Just to be on the safe side. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Secware_Tech6
Your over thinking it Imo. You can't stop a working system from activating when opening the external sounder. Just get up to it, open it and remove the battery. Then disconnect o can't be more helpful on an open forum
