hiddenloop Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hi, We are having false alarm trouble with one sensor in our already installed alarm. We have sensitivity set at the lowest possible level. This GS611 shock sensor with reed switch is mounted horizontally on the top right of an external glass door frame (on the frame not the door) - it is a back door and rarely used. http://www.123securityproducts.com/gs611w.html I cannot find (anywhere in the UK/Ireland) that will sell me a replacement, I can get one from the states but shipping is 90$+ (!) My question is, do you know of a compatible replacement shock sensor/reed switch that I could source in the UK?? For example from securitywarehouse would this work? http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=984 As I said its an Aritech Alarm, with a GS650 alarm panel. Thanks for your help, m Quote
Secware_Tech6 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Sales will be able to update if this product is available in the UK. From a technical point of view the device you have highlighted wont work in your application as its a combined non analysed sensor. If this is cabled back to the panel on its own wire and enough cores are available then yes it would work. Quote
hiddenloop Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 After much (much) searching I finally found an obscure site selling a replacement sensor for 25euros here in Ireland The website didnt fill me with confidence, but at least with the paying through paypal, I can get my money back if needs be; http://www.alarmshelp.com/shop/index.php?productID=136 Just posting here in case anyone is googling around and finds this thread. m Quote
Secware Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi M, I have been speaking to GE and they are awaiting stock of the GS611-W to come from Holland, they are now on our website for you to look at, but I'm afraid delivery will take 3-5 days before they reach us. Hope this is of help. Regards Elaine Quote
