Secware
Hi, The strobe light in my Reson8 Bell Box will not stop flashing after fitting my new Mini Gen4 control panel. I've tried everything & double, triple & quadruple checked the wiring, spent hours trying to fathom it out, but it still flashes. I've had to disconnect the -strobe wire to stop the flashing. My conclusion is that there must be a fault with my new Mini Gen4 panel. Have you any thoughts please? Thanks David
Secware_Tech6
When your disconnecting the strobe are you doing it at the panel or the sounder end? Id meter between Bell + and Strobe - at the panel with the strobe - disconnected. Whats the reading?
Secware
"Hello, & thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Its appreciated. To stop the strobe lamp flashing I disconnected the strobe - wire at the Mini Gen4 panel. Testing between the Bell + and Strobe - terminals with the Strobe - wire disconnected, I'm getting around 12V running on the battery & around 15V running on the Mains. Both these values are constant. I say "around" as I still use an analogue meter.
Secware_Tech6
15v is too high but id assume that is your meter. If your panel is outputing 12 v- 14v normally id say there was a fault with the panel. Dont suppose you can attach a pic of how both sides are wired so i can double check them? Secware_Tech6
Looking at the above images you have it wired correctly. I can only suggest the panel is faulty. If you raise an RMA ticket we will get that panel swapped for you.
