Secware
We are a new organisation in southern Spain, a couple of elderly ex-pats who have become sick of the growing number of burglaries in the area. It is working well as we purchase kits from the internet and we are installing them and then using local labour, responding via GSM and arriving on site within 4-6 minutes. It has proved very successful in its first 3 weeks. However,we have one problem which is causing us grief and we are unable to remedy it.We suffer from frequent power cuts here, sometimes the rapid ones on and off for several minutes, and that can be day or night. As you may imagine, this activates the message to our phones and then re-sets only to go off again a few seconds later. We had 24 activations in 8 minutes last night, and that is a real issue. The SIM card will need topping up every week unless we can find a solution, where the power cut switches to battery but does not send a repeated message if it is within a certain period, but the actual alarm awareness is not disrupted and will still operate.I realise there is a delay we can put onto the power /battery programme but we cannot really make that longer than 20 seconds and then because of the irregular power cuts, it still does not resolve the problem.the local police are amazed at the results we have had with just 4 installations. There has been 49 burglaries reported since Christmas and probably more on properties not lived in (Holiday homes), and we are very confident that we can have a major impact on this trend; depending upon getting this issue resolved. Its normal practice to have this delay at 10-30 minutes. Not seconds? Why do you need it so fast?
