I would like to fit a driveway alert (preferably wireless) so probably a narrow beam pir type thing, plus a gate openining alert.

 

Basically when the gate opens or someone walks in the drive I would like a buzzer to go off inside the house. Is there an idiots kit?

There isnt an idiots kit as you put it, but it is entirly possible.

Id start with a gjd or voltek lighting system and add the detectors required.

Alternativly you cold start with a normal intruder alarm control panel and add the required detectors.
