July 28, 200916 yr Hi, i set my passage as an entry/exit zone type with the connector on the front door, when i set the alarm i get the exit tone then the system sets, but on retrurning to the property instead of sounding the entry tone allowing me time to put in my code - it triggers the alarm setting off the siren, how can i solve this? thank you daniel
July 29, 200916 yr Hi Daniel Have you sorted this problem out now you have sorted the panel or is this on going? Regards Elaine
July 29, 200916 yr Danny Can you tell me what panel this is on etc. or let me know your order number and i can look it up.
July 29, 200916 yr Author the panel is veritas r8 - i set the zone to entry/exit, on setting the alarm it ticks down, but on re entry insted of starting the entry tone it just sets off the alarm. daniel
July 30, 200916 yr Danny. That is correct, ie pogramming it as entry/exit. WHen it activates what zone does it report as activating, and what zone is the soor wired into?
July 30, 200916 yr I cant understand that then. Out of interest what is on zone 1, and how are the other circuits programmed.
July 31, 200916 yr Author zone 1 is my liiving room, i have 6 zones in total zone 3 the passage with contact set to entry -exit, all others to guard.
July 31, 200916 yr Danny You are using entry exit and not inhibited entry? Do you have a PIR in the hallway (ie after the door) that would trigger on the way to the keypad? If so how is that circuit programmed. James
July 31, 200916 yr Author its entry/exit not inhibited entry, i checked this, erm no there isnt a PIR in the passage, just the contact. i just cant figure it out because it ticks down on exit but fires alarm on entry. daniel
July 31, 200916 yr can you try setting to 30 for me. I can only assume its actually on 0. Also you are full setting this when testing, not part setting?
August 7, 200916 yr Author I have been trying for another week now, im still having the same problem, i set it to 30 secs and the alarm is set as full, but it still fires siren on re entry not the countdown. please help daniel
August 9, 200916 yr Im not convinced yet the panel is faulty as it does sound like a programming issue. Can you try something else for me. Wire the door contact into zone 1 and program that as delay. I assume your not getting a tamper alarm on entry? Support
August 15, 200916 yr Author out of intrest- how should the door connector be wired to the board. e.g zone, aux, tamper ? daniel
August 15, 200916 yr Assuming its a std door contact with 2 silver screws and 3 brass Then the 2 silver connections should be connected directly to the zone. And the tamper circuit is created by twisting the wires together and connecting to a brass screw.
August 15, 200916 yr I dont understand the question The silver connections should be connected to the zone. As the manual shows. How do you have it wired?
August 23, 200916 yr Author i have the door contact connected to the panel with red and black to the zone, white and green to aux, yellow and blue to tamper, is this correct?, as im now thinking the problem im having is because its wired to tamper aswell as the zone. daniel
August 27, 200916 yr A door contact does not need power, so you shouldnt have anything connected to the aux. Id suggest you disconnect the tamper to confirm it isnt that. Do you have a picture of both ends showing how its wired. James
