Secware
I have some problems with my WL siren (MCS-730). I have enrolled it as siren 1. When I check signal strength (diagnostics) there is strong connection between the CPU and S1. The tamper alarm works, the tamper alarm is shown on the CPU and it is in state not ready until the siren is back to normal again. My system is a PowerMax+ UK 1.47. However the (external) siren does not react (no sound or strobe) when there is an alarm in the system. How could I fix this problem?
Secware_Tech6
Sounds like you may have a faulty unit. But how are you testing it. ie there are possible 2nd entry timers and bell delays you could have configured
Secware_Tech6
just a note. I notice you say you have a powermax plus. Im not sure the 730 is compatible with the plus units, you need a
Secware
Thanks for the replies! I hope my powermax+ is compatible with the siren since I bought the powermax+ kit including the msc-730 siren from you. I have not knowling changed any siren settings. How do you change the 2nd entry timers? How do you change the bell delays? (I can progam the unit through the CPU or PM+ remot programer)
Secware_Tech6
I would suggest it is compatible then if you already have a working 730. re delay options see below (copied from install manual) 4.4.5 Abort Time (fig. 4.4 location 05) Do not use in UL installations. Here you select the length of time allowed by the system to abort an alarm (not applicable to alarms from FIRE, 24H SILENT, EMERGENCY, GAS and FLOOD zones). The PowerMax+ is programmed to provide an “abort interval” that starts upon detection of an event. During this interval, the buzzer sounds a warning but the siren remains inactive and the alarm is not reported. If the user disarms the system within the allowed abort interval, the alarm is aborted. Available options: 00s, 15s, 30s, 45s, 60s, 2m, 3m, 4m.
