[Ticket Question] Help with an Odyssey 1E bell box
Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi: From what you said it may well be the bell box that's faulty, check again tonight when it's fully dark to see if the LED's are still dim. Can you tell me what control panel it is that your using? If you don't want to post that up on here you can either send me a pm or email me at amsec@tesco.net Andy @ Amman Security -
Hi: The Scantronic 420/30/40 series of Detectors should see you right, but virtually any good quality PIR will work on the system. Hope that helps: Andy @ Amman Security

[Ticket Question] Help with an Odyssey 1E bell box
Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi: No problem, depending on the system the Flashing LED's will either flash all the time that the box is powered i.e 24/7 to show that the box is a live box or will only flash when the system is set. As you said it could well be a problem with the Bell box itself, Unfortunately you could also have a panel problem. As far as I know the sounder design has'nt changed so it should be a straightforward swap, if doing it yourself don't forget to remove all power from the panel before removing the sounder cover & use a pair of ear plugs when you connect the onboard battery in the sounder. The sounder can be quite loud even on a part charged battery & been known to startle people so badly that they've fallen off of ladders. If i can give you any more help, please ask. Hi Jose: Just been looking on the Texecom website & came across the Prestige Orbit DT, looks like that should do what you want but again it's Hardwired so you would need an interface board to the Powermax system. www,texecom.co.uk Look at products, click on detectors & then Prestige series. Hope that helps: Andy @ Amman Security

Hi Jose: What I normally use are IR Beam detectors which would be wall mounted towards the front of the Balcony. Unfortunately I have'nt come across any yet that are either Battery powered or Wireless. Maybe Tech 6 can come up with a better solution. Regards: Andy

Hi: I've never used the Powermax, but if the language can be changed it will normally tell you in the Installer manual. Do you want to protect items on your Balconies from thieves? or do you just want to stop them getting in via the Balconies? Andy @ Amman Security

[Ticket Question] Sterling LCD keypad
Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi: The LCD keypad should be fully backward compatible to your old system. As far as I know the only problem would be if you tried to add the LCD keypad as an extra to a system running 1 of the Icon keypads, if your using it as a replacement for your old keypad it should be a direct replacement. Hope that helps: Andy @ Amman Security NB: Please make sure you fully remove power from your system before attempting the change, i've seen several systems where this has'nt been done & it can lead to a complete new panel. -
Hi: Looking at your post I thought it was a small commercial workshop you were talking about. I prefer to use Dualtechs as once set up properly they are less prone to false alarms if used in unheated & possibly damp workshops & at the end of the day they provide a higher level of protection. 1 thing you need to remember to do is to seal all cable entry holes, in your detectors to stop draught & bugs getting into the detector & causing problems. Other than that the system you chose seems pretty good. Andy @ Amman Security

[Ticket Question] Wireless shock sensor for my van?
Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Have to be honest I would'nt fit a shock detector in your van, with all the banging about it's going to get in normal everyday use it probably would'nt last very long & shocks don't respond well to being bounced about. Andy @ Amman Security -

Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi: Take a look at the Bosch BLP1 Blue line Pet PIR, a lovely piece of kit & what I call BFF (Buy, Fit, Forget). An easy detector to install & in my experience very reliable. Andy @ Amman Security. -

[Ticket Question] Help with an Odyssey 1E bell box
Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi: When you say the Strobes still flash with the panel set, do you mean the coloured LED's ? or the Bright strobe lights. Also you said the sounder tries to operate, could you explain. Andy @ Amman Security -
Hi: Just had a quick look at my Installer Manual for the Premier 48 & it shows that outputs 1 & 2 can be used to drive loads of up to 500ma each output not 1A, so your best bet would be to use a relay unit. Hope that helps: Andy @ Amman Security.

[Ticket Question] Help with the Texecom Premier 48
Specialist1 replied to securitywarehouse's topic in Intruder Alarms
Hi: Looking at the Installer Manual it shows that the panel can drive either 1 x 16ohm or 2 x 8ohm speakers in series, these being wired across the spkr+ & spkr- terminals. Unfortunately as with most panels nowadays the speakers don't appear to come with it. Hope that helps: Andy @ Amman Security
