Intruder Alarms

Hi, I have a fully wired house system. I need to add another zone to a remote building, a garage, and to run a cable is not really possible. Can you recommend a wireless add on Tx/Rx. The zone will have just two door contacts which can be wired in series. the garage does have mains power if required. The garage is about 80 feet from the panel and has direct line of sight, that is to say no major structures to weaken the signal. many thanks

Hi, I've been looking into the Galaxy dimension system for my home for a few reasons, I need to protect the house and two out buildings and I like the IP/GPRS options. Now an oversight on my behalf is the use of RS485 between modules and remote panels, I'm used to systems like the the Honeywell G4. When doing up the house I've used 6 core standard cable, so my problem will be the cable to the remote panel by the front door. The length of this cable is under 10 metres, will I get away with this? As for the 2nd panel upstairs and a powered RIO out in the garage I can easily run cat5 cable. I don't normally ask questions like this but this cable has been run and plastere…

The instructions for this unit says that if the settings are changed the unit must be reset at the control Panel. I purchased these units to replace my existing unit and therefore do not have a Honeywell control unit or any functionality to reset PIRs. Can you tell what the reset process is? The anti - mask function, sounds a bit like anti-tamper, do you see any reason why the anti tamper and anti-mask relay out puts cannot be connected in series and both be in the anti-tamper circuit?

I need to add an additional control panel to my alarm system. The current panel is menvier ts700. Do have one which will be compatible with this or would you recommend installing 2 new control panels and if which ones please?

Hi, I have a Honeywell Galaxy 3 48 panel running V5.50 firmware. I've seen firmware for the Dimension 48 @ V6.79. Are these 2 panels the same and can I upgrade my panel to V6.79 firmware or are there hardware difference that cap my firmware @ V5.55? I always thought they were the same panel just with different firmware but after looking though info I'm no longer sure as to the compatibility. If I can upgrade, I'll purhcase the SPI key from security warehouse but will need some instructions on ow to perform the update. Thanks

Hello, I have purchased a CQR 3/8 Flush Contact 1 RD 4 Wire White, but it does not work on my door. Most probably, it's because the gap est too large and the metal door interfere with the contact detection. I am looking buying a new flush contact. Which one do you recommand? You have so many. The installation environnement is: metalic door, large gap (difficult to measure, probably at least 10mm), if possible a contact with direct wiring. Looking forward your answer

Hi in looking for an intruder alarm system, I want to install it across a 30 meter doorway in a shed on a farm. I think a break beam system would be the most appropriate system. Hi there, We purchased the above system sometime ago and have only just got around to installing it! On opening the bell box we were sold with it , it is a hardwired version. I have checked the install manual which only refers to a remote bellbox. Can you tell me which models would be compatible with our system that are available and how much they cost from your company + the postage costs. I dont suppose we can hardwire the one we have got which is a Texecom external sounder and strobe? Thank you for your help

Hi, So it's 1:49am, my husband is at work and I can't get hold of him. my 9800 alarm is saying battery fault and keeps going off every few minutes. My daughter is stood by the pin pad in tears whilst i desperately try to find a solution - is there anyone who can help? I feel sick and I'm shaking! I don't know if it's going off outside. The company who installed it have gone out of business and I don't know who to ring and there's no user manual anywhere, I can't find much online either. Please can anyone help with the following re. Intruder Alarm system Scantronic 9800+. (9827) In brief, there is a code showing as bF which I understand through d/loading the User manual means: battery fault on the control panel. The alarm has been going off several times a day for nearly a week and I disconnected the ringer several days ago but am too worried to open up the control panel in case it then goes off again and I can't press the code to stop the noise once the faccia is removed. Hi I have a securilite alarm system fitted with the IBX Command centre in the house which has Single head PIR sensor outside to cover the drive way, the sensor has failed and i cannot see any part numbers on the sensor and i am unsure which one to order from you, it looks identical to the voltek sensors you list but which one ? would the Voltek 1804 single head sensor be suitable for this with the range of 18m x 90 degree angle ? Hi, I have been looking to buy accessories for Visonic Powermaster 10G system of which I already have a panel and some accessories bought in Sweden. On many accessories it says "will only work with UK panels". Is this actually the case that I would not be able to get these to work with a panel bought in Sweden (sounds strange that Visonic would manufacture special equipment for UK only?)?

Could you advise me if Excel and R8 Panels are basically the same and if not the difference between them and are they programmed the same way?
