I have a domestic Itec Horizon alarm system with shock sensors wired on every window and door sensors on the front and back door. The systen does not use PIR's. The main Horizon box has developed a fault and I understand these are quite old now and no longer available. Can you tell me what a modern equivalent system is that would be compatible with the existing installation - ie the window and door sensors and the price?

Hi there, many thanks for your response.

[Depends on the sensors you have.

What vibration sensors do you have now, and how many detectors in total is

there?]

The vibration shock sensors have 'Itec' written on them, white in colour and

are approx 2cm x 2cm x 5cm. There is no other writing on them - I can send

you a photograph if it helps.

The house is fitted with 12 of the vibration shock sensors with 2 door

opening sensors.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards

IIRC a few alarm panels ( Itec , Scopetronic Homeguard etc) had a zone type called Inertia or similar and had pulse count and gross attack settings. This allowed non-powered shock sensors to be used (basically just a device with a cup and ball or similar). Some had a separate analyser card fitted within the panel.Either way I think you may struggle to find a panel compatible with your particular shocks ( they may also have degraded , especially on windows with condensation).
