securitywarehouse
I'm interested to buy from you a complete set of alarm system for my house. i want it to consist from a good expendable control panel so i chose the scantronics ion40. I'm building a new house so i did all the provisions needed for wired installation. my system will consists of: 10 magnetic contacts for doors/windows 5 passive infrared detectors 2 smoke detectors 3 keypads 1 internal and 1 external siren The thing is that i'll try to install it myself so i'll need help as much as possible. -when i buy the ion40 system it comes with 1 keypad already and i'll have to buy 2 more or is something different so i must buy 3? -i read the specs of ion40 and is only supporting 1 wired siren. is this true? i have to buy the second one wireless? -about the magnetic contacts. i chose Elmdene. i allready bought from u 2 samples to see them how i can use them exactly. i bought QFC and QSC. the thing i'm wondering is that they are enviromental class 3 and the systems supports class 2. is it compatible? also i ordered with red resistor(for scantronics control panel). what are the difference between the ones i ordered and from QFT? what is terminal and cabled contact? what is the purpose of the cable pre installed on the grade's 3? how is the installation procedure for them. please advice me on this matter... - Are all scantronics PIR's (wired) compatible with this system? - What kind of panic attack buttons should i buy? wired or not? Secware_Tech6
The thing is that i'll try to install it myself so i'll need help as much as possible. While we do not restrict sale of items, im afraid we cant support professional products being installed DIY. None of our products are designed for DIY install. -when i buy the ion40 system it comes with 1 keypad already and i'll have to buy 2 more or is something different so i must buy 3? It does come with a keypad so you would need 2 additional -i read the specs of ion40 and is only supporting 1 wired siren. is this true? i have to buy the second one wireless? Its a power supply issue. You can run as many sounders as you like but the output would need a relay and you would need additional power supplies to handle the load. -about the magnetic contacts. i chose Elmdene. i allready bought from u 2 samples to see them how i can use them exactly. i bought QFC and QSC. the thing i'm wondering is that they are enviromental class 3 and the systems supports class 2. is it compatible? I think you are confusing 'Grade' with 'class'. A grade 3 component is higher security and harder to defeat etc. There is no point using GRade 3 components on a Grade 2 Panel. also i ordered with red resistor(for scantronics control panel). what are the difference between the ones i ordered and from QFT? Different panels have different resistor values. Ie the scantronic use 4k7 and 2k2. A galaxy would use 1k and 1k. The QFT is a quick fit tyoe contact and the contact type is not related to the resistor values. what is terminal and cabled contact? A terminal contact has screw terminals for connection. A cabled contact is a sealed unit with a flying lead. YOu then use a junction box to connect. what is the purpose of the cable pre installed on the grade's 3? A lot of companies use sealed contacts by default. They are not designed to be long enough to cable back to the control panel but would require a junction box to join them. But as they are sealed any water entering the door / frame would not affect it. how is the installation procedure for them. please advice me on this matter... - Are all scantronics PIR's (wired) compatible with this system? Yes, but the benefit of hardwired is any (as a rule) hardwired sensor is compatible - What kind of panic attack buttons should i buy? wired or not? Depends on the application. Both have their merits.
