[Ticket Question] Recorder for 4 cameras, recommendations please

I am looking to purchase a hard disc recorder to record images from up to four surveillance cameras (BNC connections) as part of my experimental work looking at behavioural responses of animals. I am a complete novice when it comes to this type of technology so please excuse my ignorance. We currently use a AverDiGi EB1304-MPEG4 to monitor the behaviours but would like a system that would automatically back up the images to an external hard disc drive. It would need to be MPEG4 to allow us to view the footage on our PC's and would be interested in any other features which you feel would benefit our work. Please advise us on which of your product would be most suited for this task.

Could you include the price of any recommended products including cost of delivery and also any compatible accessories (i.e. the external hard disc drive)

I look forward to hearing your reply.

what sort of framerate per channel are you looking for?

also you shouldnt be able to read native footage from a security machines hard drive for obvious reasons.

my initial thoughts are to use ip cameras but you may have a specialist cam already in place.

im also thinking you may be better of with some sort of upload /export rather than trying to view native footage.
