securitywarehouse Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 My internal sounder registered fine with the domonial control panel, and on viewing through engineering mode always registers a high signal (7/10) However, whenever I set (full or part) the alarm, typically every other time I get the 'INT SOUNDER RADIO LINK' error. I've configured the system to ignore these errors and set regardless without requiring confirmation - but my worry is there is a fault which might mean the sounder does not go off in case of intrusion. Last week I tried changing the batteries (on the off-chance the batteries supplied were low given the packaging was open), but this did not solve the problem. The positioning of the sounder is very close to the control panel, and closer than several PIRs and the external sounder, which makes me convinced the positioning is not an issue. Do you have any suggestions for me? Quote
Secware_Tech6 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I would try chnaging the position as a temp test, also ensure the device is programmed correctly regardin heartbeat etc. James Quote
securitywarehouse Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 "Thanks James. I have tried moving the Internal Sounder to a different location (now to within line-of-sight but am still receiving similar RADIO LINK INT. SOUNDER errors sporadically. I also tried clearing and then re-registering the device, but to no avail. I have now also spoken with Honeywell Technical Support. Their suggestion was (like yours) to try another location, but felt it could also be an issue with the Internal Sounder itself, particularly since an External Sounder positioned further away from the control panel was having no similar issues. Any other thoughts?" Best regards, Quote
Secware_Tech6 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Sounds like it is. Id request and RMA and we will replace the unit Quote
securitywarehouse Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Unfortunately, I have bigger problems now than before! I tried to de-register the Internal Sounder before sending it back to you (otherwise the system won't set without errors). Unfortunately, after doing this and exiting programming mode, the remote keypad started downloading from the main control panel (as normal) but then stated 'DOWNLOAD INTERRUPTED - RETRY'. Despite switching off everything that had an RF signal (wireless internet, cordless phones) this problem persisted, ie keypad starts downloading and then about 1 minute later shows this error. Attempts to re-enter programming mode also failed (i.e, pressing and holding the tamper for 3-5 seconds, then pressing P button on back of remote keypad) - the keypad just showed the message 'END PROGRAMMING PLEASE WAIT' for couple of seconds, and then 'WAITING FOR CONNECTION' endlessely. Repeating the process to enter programming mode from here also did not work. Also tried, on the advise of Honeywell Technical support (Martin Bolen), to remove the battery from the remote keypad (earthing the terminals to fully discharge), and remove the mains & backup-battery power from the control panel, and then retrying. Still the same problem. Honeywell Technical support could not think of anything else to try, and decided either the keypad or the panel was faulty, and to return both! If anyone can think of another thing to try, I will, but to be honest, I've spent so many hours trying to get this system fixed and working with little/no success, I just want to return the whole thing to yourselves / Honeywell for a full refund, and start again with a different kit. Secware_Tech6 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 you can send it back to us for replacement. You didnt remove the keypad frm the panel by mistake instead of the sounder did you? Quote
