Hello I'm looking to see if anyone can help I've recently bought a eurosec cpx control panel and I was wondering if I need to wire an additional power supply so I can connect the 7 pir's and 4 shocktec door contacts, Or is it possible to power them via the aux 12v. The pir's nominal current is 16mA and the door cont's 7.5mA, according to my calculations this will over-load the system. If so can anyone recommend a suitable add. power supply so I can split the load.   

Id suggest you are getting your decimal places mixed up.

 

What have you calculated your total load to be?

I've calculated the total load to be 1.42A with the aux 12v only supplying 1A.

ok so using your supplied current draws

 

7 x 16mA = 112mA

4 x 7.5mA = 30mA

 

112mA + 30mA = 142mA

 

142mA = 0.142A

 

so unless you have a maglock on it somewhere i reakon youve got your decimal points mixed up
