Tynesider
I have accenta mini gen4 with two lcd keypads Master Bedroom (part sets)and Front Door and a Simple Set reader at the Back Door. All wired to go with front and rear contacts. Test the system while installing.... stage by stage Stage one: Install contacts to front and rear, wire back to panel, no tamper(s) to fiddle with Install lcds and Simpleset, find the obligatory tamper loop lock-out on powering up. Remove three wires from both tamper ports and separate into series wiring. Power up fine... disable alarm at MB RKP. Power and day lights ok. and back downstairs Front door RKP as MB Power and Day lights Okay. Back Door Simple Set Power Light no other Lights. Offered it a Fob dull tone and error light (Four x Fob's)... internet/ Simple Set Reader / Learning Fob's when none are known: Powered down put in the link, Powered up reset MB RKP learnt the Fob's. Powered down; removed the link tightened RKP Powered up reset alarm. Back downstairs Simple Set Reader has Power but NO Day Mode. Does not recognise Fob's. Other RKP's are fine, look to the internet again, maybe it's the single key setting? FD RKP engineers code flag single Key: yes.... Power Powered down put in the link, Powered up reset MB RKP learnt the Fob's. Powered down; removed the link tightened RKP Powered up reset alarm... No difference Look to internet again... the instruction for learning fobs when none are known..... does not say power down to remove link... Well that is why I am now here in your space Should I remove the link live I Did not think so I would like to get on to Stage Two: Which is opening the back/front door. to create an alarm I would like to get on to Stage Three: Which is adding bell boxes front and rear I would like to get on to Stage Four and tackle the Pir Zones and the series wiring of all those tamper cables. I would like to get on.... without hitting it hard
Tynesider
It was part of Order 16009 from the 30/10 Should I consider asking for an RMA number? I do not recall any other threads taking so long for a response, mine may just be more technical. Or it just doesn't play like it should I have checked continuity of Tampers; sound is at the rkp and so is power, leaves comms and 0v. I should think comms interact with NVM, Which I assume is on the panel. The remote lcd keypads retain the logs and single key set after powering down. So I imagine comms on the panel and the lcd's are good. How should I test 0v on the simple set? to eliminate that as a fault? Obviously if there is a break in the core somewhere it will be showing 0v. Oh and total wiring between all three rkp's is 25 metres give or take a metre All of which brings us back to comms. Or as I mentioned an RMA under warranty
Secware_Tech6
Tynesider. Sorry I missed your thread yesterday. Nice detailed post AM i right in thinking from the post you have a problem with a simple set reader? If so, i would remove it from where it is fitted, disconnect all keypad wiring at the panel and just wire the one simple set in. If it works then we have eliminated a hardware fault. IF not it looks like we have a faulty simplset. 25m is fine. James
Tynesider
I shall do that now, Why did I not think of doing that. So simple!
Tynesider
As soon as I logged of I thought Do I not need at least one other rkp to reset the initial Tamper? Although my reasoning went out of window... Technician Knows best... I have done as you asked, power but no day...no tamper & no error. Obviously no Panic alarm. On initial powering up; power was showing and although the rkp was sounding for the tamper, the tamper light was not lit. Key fob's unknown. so again I powered it down and up learning a fob. Same results on powering up again, Power but no Tamper light, does not recognise the fob. Should I do the same again with one of the RKP's attatched? Secware_Tech6
Yes i would have a single keypad on it as well. My bad i assumed you had an optima. I should never assume! Have you got more then 1 simple set reader? If so is that functioning as expected?
Tynesider
I have tried consecutively, both RKP's singularly with the simple set. no joys. I am now setting the panel up with two lcd RKP's and will add the third when this issue has been resolved. Although I thankyou for your time Tynesider
Secware_Tech6
Tynesider. It does sound like you have a faulty simpleset. Id advise you raise an RMA request and get it swapped. James
