Homelink 75 ........... new installation

I am putting together an alarm system for a domestic house using the 75 as the base system but need to add a couple of extra features which don't come in the box !

I am planning on having two master blasters, one inside and one out, these will be the 12v relay versions, will they wire straight into the panel without additional hardware?

I also need to turn on about four 240v external floodlights upon activation of the alarm ( say 2000 watts total load ) will any additional hardware be required for these?

I am an absolute alarm virgin so if you can keep it as simple as possible I would be very grateful.

Thanks for your help

I wouldnt advise trying to install pro gear as a DIY'er, as support is impossible.

The master blasters will be fine and will run from the panel (ie the 12v relays) however you will need something to switch your floodlights. THis could be a contacter or a gjd switcher.

Thanks for your advise, familiar with contactors ok, will the panel have suitable output contacts, as for the sirens, but at a 240v just not capable of handling the 2000watt load without the contactor?

Regretably trying to get it installed professionally in Crete would be a long shot so I'm the best its got ! Would not contemplate, as is common knowledge, using a useless DIY alarm, if you need an alarm you need it to work ?

Are you suggesting specialist knowledge not contained in the installation intructions will be required, if so will Cooper or someone like yourselves not be able to fill in the gaps?

we can help with programming etc, however it is assumed that you have basic installation and fault finding skills. its impossible for us to offer support on the basics, due to the lack of understanding. also pro gear is not designed to survive incorrect termination.

We cannot cover damage like this under warranty.

the outputs on the panel as 12v you will need either a 12v contactor or an intermediate relay.
