MW35 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I have just purchased a Secware Optima 2 x PIR Full Kit, ADE Honeywell 8SP419A-UK control panel kit from this site, what do I need to do to program it to use one PRI sensor as it's going in a garage, PRI is on zone 2, with say a 10 second entry and exit time. accounts3 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I believe that there is a factory set zone for the entry exit route. the Garage PIR should be on an Intruder zone, although we would not recommend a PIR for a harsh environment like a garage, we would suggest you use a dual Tech to prevent false alarms. If you have never fitted an alarm before try using the panel on a desk to see how the zones work, and to see that the panel is working correctly before you put it on the wall and wire anything into it. Then you will know that any zone problems are to do with the cabling etc, and be quite confident in your fault finding. Your installation manual should be a great aid. Hope this helps Quote
MW35 Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 The alarm was set up by a friend, and worked ok, but I had to do a factory reset, as I had problems after changing the default user code, the bel and PIR are wired correctly, because as I said I had it working, but after the reset, if I type in default code ***3 all lights from 1- 8 come on and the alarm sounds a rapid beeping sound like an error, I think I need to program the zones like he did, but he's gone away on holidays today so I can't get hold of him for two weeks, Quote
MW35 Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Ok this is where I am a little bit closer, I have followed page 35 of the manual, it now seems to work where it counts down to arming, but the only problem is now as soon as the PRI is triggered the alarm sounds, how do I set it to give me a 10 second countdown after the PRI is triggered, to give me enough time to disable it Quote
MW35 Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 I got it working now, the manual is not the easiest to follow, it is quite confusing in places , and not much support on this forum :-\ Quote
accounts3 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 The forum, is an open forum for other members to answer questions as and when they wish to, if they have knowledge and can reply. It also allows other installers to give opinions of equipment they have used and found to be worth while so there are unbaised opinions Quote
